Never have I ever seen such a forced adopting in any anime, but for some reason it really fits Hina's sister's personality!

It does have. The hina's birthday arc stops in c 98 and then the isumi's and
ayumu starts with c 111 to 123. They skip a few laughs then start with another awesome arc... .... though I miss some few laughs well like that matters. I like isumi
probably it will eat upto episode 18-20.

HOLY HECK!

I never expected Hina to sing cruel angel thesis but she did an oh my gosh, talk about a classic! This and the fact that she was dressed like Lacus

I wasn't really that bothered by Nagi's part but the random dude who fell for Hayate was funny.

But still the episode was ALL about Hina being cute ^^'

(and I've finally noticed something...I'm enjoying this second season a LOT more than the first!).

After watching this episode, something just came to mind... I wonder if J.C.Staff timed it so that this ep airs right before saimoe2009, this whole arc should boost her winning chances... they PLANNED it! When she wins the tournament, "KEIKAKU DOORI" is gonna be written all over their faces

Btw, back in ep10 when they went shopping for hina's present, does anyone know what the "my excalibur" part was a parody of?

According to the chinese translation note, the my Excalibur part is a reference to certain artist in japan and they call male's genital as Excalibur in some manga. Meaning, she is asking Hayate is he gay for rejecting such a cute girl.

lol yeah I got that part. Just fuzzy on the Excalibur reference since "Excalibur" is so commonly used in like... everything. For some reason, the first thing that came to mind was Shura (Saint Seiya) but then I thought "no wait, that has nothing to do with it." I probably thought of this coz of the millions of Saint Seiya refences in the first season.

I am guessing they kept the Haruhi order reference because of Haruhi relaunch so it is not outdated joke.

Talking

I loved this episode and the one before it. I'm surprised we didn't get the 'special' voting poll that we got for the episode 48 thread. http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=63088

Love ♥ Hina

I may not be a fan of Hina, but this episode was done really well and I'm happy for that.

This episode just made me so happy. Can't really explain in words right now, but the episode just put a smile on my face. Made my entire day.

Wow. Hinagiku has shot through the roof as my favorite character in the series now. She has far out-distanced herself from the next closest competition. The depth of her character is so much more fun and interesting. We've had 60 episodes of Nagi, the heroine apparent of the show, but I still feel that Hina is so deep.

It is quite unfortunate that after this high, they are going to move away from her character for a while. I guess they need that for the other characters to catch up.

I can totally understand why the author has leaned towards the Hina x Hayate pairing. They truly do make the most beautiful couple in the series, as the clock tower scene shows. Pair Hayate up with anyone else in that romantic scene, and you just won't get the same vibe.

Eh, I'd have to say that Ayumu is a much better character as far as the love interests go. It hasn't really shown in the anime so far since she's mostly just been a throwaway character, but in the manga she definitely has a lot more going for her in the character department, while Hinagiku starts to feel like a one-trick pony.

But this is an anime discussion topic so~

Well, I think with episode 12 and 13 Hina has officially became my favorite character over Tessa and Sheryl. At this point, I think an episode without Hina is going to be disappointing to some point.
