Also, that tablet technology was pretty neat and fun to watch, I wonder when we will see something similar in reality.
It's not that far into the future, actually.

An Android app that simulates the AR environment featured in R;N would be the greatest thing.

It wasn't a bad first episode but it sure was boring. Can't judge the series on this ep alone, I'll have to watch more. I hope the next episode will manage to grab me.

Production values were pretty good, so that's that at least.

it seem like the clothes changing app can change clothes that uncover a part which covered by the real clothes (in this case, the uniform cover the shoulder, but when Kaito change it to neko maid clothes, it bare)... wonder if it can strip a person naked.

First ep was pure disaster.. bleak characters, nothing really happens and whole premise is simply too bad. I had no fun of watching it, Steins;Gate is many ranks higher. But I guess I will watch one more ep, just so sake of this girl in the end and hope it will get better.

Anyway, who she is? Someone from Chaos;Head? I haven't seen it/played it yet so that's why I'm asking...

hmm ... what the-? oh, yeah you're right!
Technology sure is one beautiful thing I'd like to live long enough to see this app being developed in real life

Just watching the 1st episode, its a slow start.. I know many already said the chara isn't interesting, but I like the main couple. Kaito seem a cool MC when everything already kick-in, and Aki is cute, can't hate Char's fangirl. And I like the chara design, its just pleasant to look even though the concept look bland. The loli's suck though.

What very refreshing is the atmosphere are really less chuuni than two previous title, maybe its just temporal thing because that loli look suspicious. But I will like if they can maintain this atmosphere.

Steins; Gate start very slow too.

Too bad, building big mech isn't less interesting premise than time machine.

Maybe it should have Grant Imahawa from Mythbusters to sponsor the series.

Also I think it's a huge mistake to expect something precisely like Steins;Gate as the topic isn't even remotely the same here. The topic in Steins;Gate was time travel and the topic here is anime robots. I think what it's important to look to are the characters and to me they had some nice interactions in the opening episode. I also assume there's many more to meet similar to Steins;Gate as well which built up it's cast over time. I don't know maybe you have to be really into mecha stuff and the aesthetics of giant robots to fully enjoy the concept of a cast of characters trying to get together and build one over time. My hope is that this show can possibly help others not so inclined to at least see what exactly it is that that people like me see in the mecha concept and I'll almost certainly be using that as a barometer for the shows success among other things, but yeah really feeling the theme here possibly more than I was Steins;Gate in the early going.

Tastes. People have them and they are sometimes different.

So, after watching the first episode I am wondering about a few things. How connected is this to Steins;Gate as they obviously showed the world line at the beginning. I know C;H, S;G, and R;N are all supposed to be in the same universe but are they all actually connected in some way via plot or characters or anything? I think it would be sick to find out that idk Daru started the whole giant robot thing, kind of what i was getting when the girl kept putting on glasses and making quotes.

I actually havn't seen C;H so I hope I'm not missing anything because of it but I loved Steins;Gate to no end, probably my number 1 series. I just hope Robotics;Notes lives up to it.

And as far as the world line goes, is the line one from S;G, like the beta world line or what.

R;N 01 - A Castle of Steel Rising in the Sky

It's very rare that I watch noitaminA (most of the time they simply don't look interesting), but I love the Science Adventure series. And as I've made clear in the Gyrozetter, Lagrange and Smile Precure threads (that last one for this weekend only, but it still counts), I love robots. My reasons have never been very well articulated - "It's a ROBOT" is often all said - but if I had to articulate, it's because as a longstanding member of the Super Sentai fandom, seeing giant robots week in and week out is nearly second nature to me, and the concept just bleeds coolness. More Super than Real, obviously. But the concept of a robot show within a show being a driving factor of this draws me in almost instantly.

Akiho's pretty much exactly the kind of character I like, even if I keep hearing a bit of Kokoro leaking through. I wonder just how much of a role Gunvarrel is going to play in the events, if that missing final episode has anything to do with the other stuff going on. The show looks a little cleaner than either Steins or Chaos, but as long as that same sense of conspiracy and atmosphere is there, I'll stick it out.

I wasn't even aware there was a problem. I thought it was one of those evergreen genres that, by virtue of catering to Western tastes, didn't even need to be justified.

But that was my favorite part of the previous two! Or maybe it's just because I have a taste for overblown theatrics. Normality's only a relative thing, anyway.

Those two (Kai & Aki) in the robotics club sure were interesting characters.
Kai has some potential. Seems like he's not just an ordinary guy.
So it's all about Gunvarrel, the robot that's insanely popular.
Keeping the club, finishing the robot and winning the tournament.
Screams easy.... doesn't it? LOL

I used to think so but lately it seems like mecha is either a love it or hate concept in the Western Sphere. There doesn't seem to be much of a middle ground on the matter anymore. I see just as many people gravitating towards a series because it has mecha as those that seem to imply a show can never be good and are immediately turned off if it contains them regardless of other factors. It's not as polarizing as say moe has become, but it's not exactly a uniting factor by any stretch. Not the way it was during the heyday of Adult Swim and the like.

Interesting first episode.

This show actually makes me think of Tari Tari a lot more than it does Steins;Gate. The only parts that really made me think of Steins;Gate was that "time listing" at the very beginning (
Spoiler for Mild Steins;Gate spoiler:
) and the very ending because loli-girl gave me a vague time traveler vibe.

But our main duo and their attempts to win over a crusty female teacher just screams Tari Tari to me, and that's a good thing!

First of all, Aki is like a DBZ fusion of Tari Tari's Konatsu (her general attitude) and Wien (her love of flashy heroes and the way she expresses it). I honestly like to think of these two kids as the daughter of Konatsu and Wien, and the son of Sawa and Tanaka.

Anyway, for successfully reminding me of one of my favorite anime shows of 2012, I'll be sticking with this show. This first episode may have been a bit slow, admittedly, but I think the show has potential.

As for the timline stuff
Spoiler for steins;gate spoiler:

So now that we can stop talking about that (especially before mods start thumping people), I found the first episode a bit bland and slow as well. Just not a super strong opening episode so while I will be following it I'm not super hyped for it at this point.
