Good episode. Lucy and Natsu provided fanservice, each in their own way. That king still gives me the creeps.

things are really picking up. Looks like from the preview that the next episode will probably end many of the fights.

it's just so FT to have Natsu and Lucy playing around costume dressing when they're in enemy territory. lol. And I agree with the best shot choice. Really THE best shot, lol.

Finally Natsu gets to use his magic in Edolas. Wow Lucy weighs more than Gajeel. Best part was the coffin box and changing clothes, never thought Natsu would end up in the same clothes. So is Coco going to rebel against the king, it would be helpful. Nice to see Aquarius care about Lucy for a little bit when she couldn't use her water.

ep 88... hmm... didn't like some of the panel changes (other wise ep was ok) vs the manga and encase I didn't mention it prior I hate this new intro and ending... and not so much the song but other stuff...

Not a bad episode. They managed to wrap up the fights for Natsu, Lucy, and Gray in one episode which is good. A pretty nice move with Virgo handing Lucy that spirit whip. Lucy is understanding her own weaknesses better and realizing that she has to be able to fight with her own strength and ration out her spirits for the right moments. Otherwise you have the same problem of her summoning too many strong spirits in a row and collapsing. Plus let's face it, she got a pretty fancy whip out of it .

Nice combo for the finishing attack by Natsu. He may not have realized what he was doing, but it worked.

Good move by Gray. I had actually forgotten for a few moments that he could just make a key if necessary. Really no reason to hold back on the enemy. Plus that guy was just creepy so Gray really needed to beat him up. This way they have the ability to fire the cannon when they want to and keep the enemy from firing.

Gajeel in a tough spot still. He seems to be just having fun, but at the same time it looks like he's at the disadvantage. At this rate he won't have any ground to stand on. The actions of the other Gajeel are interesting and suppose he's going to pass intel along to the Fairy Tail of that world so they can make their move at the right moment.

Epic entrance by Virgo.. Matter of fact i liked the whole Lucy/Virgo vs Byro fight. Probably the highlight of the episode for me. The animation was kinda lacking even by Fairy Tail standards this episode tho. I dunno it just seemed that way. Anyways, needs Gajeel vs Panther lily

I suppose the idea is that there is nothing really special about the key itself. It's just really durable because of how important it was. The cannon is what has absorbed the magic so long as the shape of the key is the same it should fire. If that thing had really absorbed dragon slayer magic I kind of thing it would have blown up or something when being broken.

That isn't true, the situation was exactly the same. Gray made a replica in the manga too.

Yeah, I just went back to re-read that section - I have no idea how I could have gotten that mixed up. I must have nodded off while reading that first time around and dreamed up that scenario... My bad.

That being said, I'm really looking forward to next week's episode.
