It was, but he didn't have time to process it all until Orb. He even broke up with Flay in Orb, which shows you things were finally changing for him. And the remastered version better fits his shocked reaction afterward. He was sometimes sad, but never really as shocked when he killed people until that point.

And the Nichol issue would probably had been avoided without the slow motion. This thing was supposed to happen quickly.

I do think if we had seen it happen in "real time" first before the slow motion view, it wouldn't be so bad.

I find it a largely useless change though. It adds nothing. Doesn't even look cool...

Well, the change was in fixing the inconsistency between him going for the kill and then acting all shock about it.

It wasn't an inconsistency. The action was a deliberate choice on the part of the writers and animators; otherwise Kira wouldn't have been called out on his being upset.

He's being called out because all they know is that he killed, without making any distinction about how he felt.

Never saw an inconsistency. In the original, he reacts on instinct and doesn't catch himself until it's too late. In the new one he steps back without blocking the hit and doesn't notice until it's too late.

The difference is so minute and unimportant to the story that it just feels like a waste of animation...

Considering Kira was shaken up about it, it was not unimportant.

No, it doesn't. The scene was like....

Nicol sees the beam saber.

"OH LOOK, IT's PINK!" runs into blade. You know what they also should have done, have Blitz trip on a boulder while running into it.

Because it still happened too quickly to be avoided. Kira basically stepped back/aside defensively without intending to kill and yet still caused someone's death.

Please...there was a full 3 seconds and Nicol was STILL running into the blade. Now, if he had JUMPED forward and Kira still planting it there would be deliberate. Unless that was what kira was planning all along. His shocked face was just a mask, inside he was brimming with joy that he killed Athrun's friends.

So are you saying Blitz took 3 seconds to take 3 steps while running? I doubt that; it's definitely slow motion, including the slow/sad tune to go with it.

It's kind of weird. The title says SEED, but Kira is wearing Destiny's clothing.

I think they're just using the same entries for both shows, but acknowledging that SEED was where they debuted.

Char and Quattro probably have separate entries due to the vastly different roles he played as well as the name change. Kira and Lacus pretty much had similar roles in both shows.
