well, even most anime air late into the night for that matter, with only the really mainstream ones like naruto and bleach in more humane hours.

What was the name of the big cannon in StrikerS that the Numbers took out?

In addition, is there any information on what it can do?

Einherjar. (Which is the name for the slain warriors collected by the valkyries for Valhalla...just in case you were wondering. Hm...I wonder if there's a German spelling of that? With the Belkan connection, I'd expect MGLN to use Germanic rather than Norse variations...though "laevatein" is also of Norse extraction...)

Spoiler for runes for Einherjar:
Will poke someone when they aren't busy if someone else doesn't poke this first.

What are those things that Nanoha, Teana and Subaru wear around the waists of their barrier jackets called?

I've heard them refered to as "butt-capes" but that's not particularly eloquent, is it?

Well, assuming you mean that skirt-like structure that only covers the behind, I've never seen anyone actually wearing one IRL, so I presume it is only popular on the internets. And the internets have so far only come up with "buttcape" for it AFAIK. Still, while you don't see standalone "capes" like this, basically, a buttcape is a coattail minus the rest of the coat. [obvious]The "coattail" is the part of the coat that hangs below the waist, covering the ass.[/obvious]

PS: I am not a clothes expert, of course...

Subaru's looks like her jacket got cut in half to show off her middle. I'm guessing it's supposed to be a long jacket.

Teana's looks like an over-skirt or something. *Shrug*

Nanoha? Not sure. *Looks* Hmm... Could just be female trench coat for her.

I've heard them called back-skirts before. Honestly I'm not sure if there is a proper term for those kind of garments.

The colloquial name is indeed >>butt cape<<, but for eloquence's sake, you can call them >>waist-cloak/cape<< instead.

P/S: >>Coattail<< is another name for it, but usually cut in half.

Urban Dictionary isn't exactly the most esteemed place to learn terminology.

just as tvtropes isn't exactly the best place to make references, but maybe that's just me.

Waist-cloak it shall be. it sounds so much better than buttcape anyway.

Then would another >>site<<, practically on sewing a costume for anime characters, suffice?

(Scroll down and you can see the different parts of the Fullmetal Alchemist's military uniform being painstakingly detailed.)

What are you talking about? Tvtropes is the ultimate reference site!

Indeed, it does.

It's a weird garment, when you think about it. It might make a little sense underneath a coat as part of a formal uniform like in that FMA costume, but not when coupled with Subaru/teana's tiny coat/vest.

Of course, it's true purpose is to allow the animators to combine the best bits of both a bared midrif and a badass longcoat.

What exactly enabled Hayate to master the Tome of the Night Sky? Was it just treating the Wolkenritter as people? Given the Tome's long existance, it should be statistically improbable that there were not hardscrabble unfettered determinators who would do anything to survive, even if that includes forcing an ancient WMD to bow to their will.

(Will get JustBugsMe'd later by my pal)

I thought it was because she activated her administration authority (is that the right word? Or is there another one I'm thinking of here?) and got Reinforce to recognize her as the full master.
