Well I'm looking for a "gar" main character this time. For those of you who don't know what "gar" means, Click this http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=gar or here http://encyclopediadramatica.com/GAR.

It doesn't have to be the highest level of "gar" just, enough "gar" to get by Meaning, it doesn't have to be completely over the top like uhhh for say Dragon Ball Z or the guy from Fist of the North Star, but can be. Romance is a plus as is action.

Needless Adam Blade is extremely Gar and it has a lot of action.

If you liked Samurai Champloo then you'll like Cowboy Beebop. It also has Gar characters.

There's also Shizou from Durarara!! and Nanashi from Sword of the Stranger.

I personally don't like the term "Gar" (i find it rather silly), though i can see you're looking manly/hot blooded/bad arse characters. I'll second Needless and also recommend:

Mobile Fighter G Gundam (You mentioned Gundam(s), though i'm nor sure if you've seen this). G Gundam is known for having one of the most legendary hot blooded main characters of all time (Domon Kasshu), plus it's packed with an outstanding manly cast. A must watch.

GaoGaiGar (Name says it all really.)

Gunbuster (A bit of Coach is just what you need.)

Akagi, you'll never found character that more GAR as Akagi Shigeru. Oh you can try some classic like Ashita no Joe too. Or in other sport title like Major.

Also in Gantz main character is somewhat gar in a bunch of episodes.

Rurouni Kenshin. Old-school samurai stuff, and Kenshin Himura is as quietly GAR as they come. Stick to the series (stop after the Kyoto arc) and avoid the OVAs if you want something true to the mangaka's vision.

Major. Goro Honda is straight up GAR, start (as a kid) to finish. It's baseball-themed and on season 6, but a great GAR infusion.

Shin Mazinger Z not mentioned yet? This is a show where literally even the main character's mother is more badass than 99.9% of all characters ever created in fiction.

But then again, the main character's mother is the most badass character in the show and everyone else in the show down to a random gangster is more badass than most characters you ever knew.
