[Woland] recommended that I post this Signature idea I had posted in the Suzumiya Haruhi forum here so it wouldn't get buried under the billions of posts there, so here it is

------

Since there are people who have non-Haruhi-istic related sigs that they are reluctant to part with, I came up with a new(?) idea...

Signature Slivers!

Little strips of images related to the S.O.S. characters that can be tacked on to an existing signature to show devotion to a S.O.S character! See it in action below!

Specs: length x width - 26 x 120 pixels, inclusive of a 1 pixel transparent strip to mark it off from an existing signature.
Warning: Signature Slivers can be tacked on to existing signatures provided the total length doesn't then go over the forum limits of 500 pixels length or 50kbs.

Kyon's Sister (Imouto)

Asakura Ryoko

Misc. Signs to combine with Sig Slivers (8 x 120)

Example:

Name tags to go with Sig Slivers. (7 x 120) Currently made without a 1 pixel transparent gap as per normal Sig Slivers so that they will 'stick' to the Sliver that comes before them.

example:

Sig Sliver Stars black version (7 x 120):

SOS member/Haruhi-ist declaration Sig Slivers (7 x 120 & 8 x 120)

etc:
Naval command rank pips. Done for fun

Fleet Admiral > Admiral > Vice Admiral > Rear Admiral > Commodore > Captain > Commander > Lt. Commander > Lieutenant > Lt. Junior Grade > Ensign

Haha those are awesome to play with! One can even make a sig for themselves by mixing n matching these.

If you can help provide the image (and if you want a 'icon' for the name sliver a suggestion for the icon too) I don't see why not... delivery may not be so prompt though

Love these... and they are of my two favorite series this season~ I've got to use some of them someday...

Aha... I'm imagining how many possibilities there would be once these series are over... especially Higurashi since we know so little so far~

Eve [for this one I tried to make it straight up and down (the original image had it angled like this), but when I tried to, the resulting image was horribly distorted, so can you fix it so the character is actually straight? thanks

I tried to trim out the section of these pics that I wanted to be used for the sig slivers, but for some reason Imageshack wouldn't load the images. Although it's not any real setback since there's only one character in either of these pics.

Done! For the Shana one I tried using a higher quality image I happened to have on my harddisk. The image for the omake Saber was an image, which lent itself well to the Sig Sliver format, found when I tried to check if I had a higher quality copy of the Saber pic you provided (which I didn't).

Snip away! Thanks for doing the Shana one... yea the scan I had though it was a 'higher quality' one wasn't really scanned properly. Although the Sig Sliver format is small, precisely because of its smallness hi-quality sources are needed so you can actually tell whose the character there

As for making your own slivers... I don't have a 'patent' for the Sig Sliver format so go on ahead. *secretly looks up US patent laws*

Wow, I somehow failed to notice all these new sig slivers. Excellent work melange, I really mean it. ^_^ I like especially this one:

I think that's going to be stuck to the side of my sig for a loooong time.

Like celcius, I think I might make a couple of my own at some point, if it's Ok by you? It does seem weird to copy such a good idea from you... :/
