Nothing good, most likely Ichigo would have become a hollow unless Urahara had a way to pervent it. What was odd about Ichigo's transformation was that the mask formed first, Urahara stated that normaly the body breaks down and reforms and then the mask forms.

Sora may have been on his way to becomeing an Arrancar, it seem Grand Fisher took months to become one after haveing his mask removed and his changed from when he was unmasked to when hecame back, but choose to be purified instead.

i think the operative word is "HIDE" not destroyed.

She didn't come back with other Shinigamis, she was alone. And it seemed to be a few days before she came back. It wasn't said specifically though.

Indeed. That is how Gillian class Medo's Grande come to be. It isn't clarified that a Gillian can upgrade to Vasto Lorde in that way, but it is possible.

I think that hollows consuming other hollows is different than hollows merging. Merging upgrades their class, consuming fuels their powers. This is evident because of...

Spoiler: In the manga, didn't that big vaizard that creates barriers heal Inuoe's tsubaki after she visited him? I thought in the manga after she came to talk to Ichigo the big guy asked her about her powers and then healed tsubaki (he was injured by the arrancar). The only reason I say this was that I don't remember seeing that happen in the last ep. I just can't remember if her hair pin was missing a point in the ep still or if it was still missing one as she left (I think it may still have been missing one).
