The modern marvel of mobility is quite costly ("Road accidents in China killed at least 65,000 people last year, and injured 254,000, according to official figures.")... and western people are scared of terror attacks

Western people (using the US as a prime example) .... utterly *fail* at risk analysis.

Obviously a clear and present danger that far exceeds many relatively minor risks that those people have anxiety attacks about (being shot, being bombed, etc) .... yet each year those people and their leaders fight and balk at solutions that would save tens of thousands of lives (like drunk driving laws, seatbelt compliance, mass transit, etc). Oh well...

Russian chef kills father-in-law, then serves him in meat pies to customers
Quote:
A chef has been arrested on suspicion of killing his father-in-law, grinding up his flesh in a mincer and serving him in pies to customers in a popular cafe.
The human meat was allegedly on sale for three days in a cafe jut two miles from the Kremlin, in Moscow, Russia.

Somehow, the fact than I I don't know about the quality of the meat is more conserning me than the kind of it. Maybe because here restaurants and establishments are supposed to use only meats slaughtered by professionals in a inspected abbatoir...

I supposed the tenant upstairs is a barber?

And why do such weird crimes often happen in Russia, first it was a woman barber raping the robber she captured, and now this?

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

Did you know:

-If there are 35 people or less died during a single accident, no one will be blamed.
-If the death toll is more than 36, someone must take responsibility.

That's why initially death tolls in China cannot exceed 35.

Good to know everything magically changes at 35. Nice, logical rule.

A Point of View: Prisons don't work

What's your opinion about this? Do you think prisons should reform the way they treat prisoners?

Absolutely. Prisons in America do not work. They do not rehabilitate. They just make better criminals.

Not news at all, prisons are form of suppression, and suppression is delusion. Look at Norway and other European systems for answers.

The prison system wouldn't be half as fucked up as it is if they'd stop putting addicts and the mentally ill--and in the redder states, the poor and homeless--in prison.

But, but, now that states are cracking down on illegal immigrants, they need someone to pick in the fields!

Quote:
Georgia may use prisoners to fill farm labor gap

State officials have set their sights on another potential pool of workers to help bridge Georgia’s severe farm labor gap: prisoners.

The idea is to put nonviolent inmates -- who are spending the end of their prison terms at one of the state’s 13 transitional centers -- to work picking fruits and vegetables across Georgia.

40 years ago, they are complaining about doing that being equivalent to communism.

Now, they are copying the gulags. Looks like George Orwell's impression of "pigs looking like men in the long run" is ringing true.

Meaning? The developers are the ones that will be ****ed instead of the consumers like in US. So long as the supply outstrips demand, the developers are the ones holding financial risk to the banks, which in turn control the nation's money supply.

Out of public eye, Arab women power haute couture

Arab Man after getting home : *kisses wife* Ok dear, show me how you look in that bareback, barewaist two-piece.

The biggest problem I have with the prison system in America is that criminals in prison live better and more comfortable lives than most law-abiding citizens.
