Wow, nostalgia. I didnt even have to see the opening (but I did anyway) just that gif was enough.

It is a VERY memorable OP amongst all the Gundam series, and it really gels well with the mood of the series itself. A good way to make viewers cement the association. Another cool thing about the Gundam Wing OPs is that they blend the song with the various mechanical sounds from the Gundams, making it a definite "Mecha" song.

This is very different from the current trend where it is just instrumental and lyrics. If you remove the video, the songs could very well be for non-mecha shows.

Play this at an anime convention, and see how many people you can catch start posing as the various Gundams as depicted in the OP. :P
