Technically, the youngest sibling of the Abrahamic faiths, by definition, has great difficulty abiding the existence of its elder siblings (Judaism, Christianity) because "they're wrong and because they don't see the One True Way, we don't like them". Christians mistreat Jews because "they killed Christ and they won't admit he was the Messiah". The *real* reasons for conflict (resources, economics, water supplies, etc) may be drivers that the leaders think about but what gets the "people in the street" outraged (via manipulation by their leaders) are the fundamental differences in which doctrine of the "desert sky god" you opt for.

If you ask why... "man in the street" will go on about "who killed who" but few of them have a deeply analytical grasp of *why* they hate the 'other'.

Database Of U.S. Internet Pirates Will Be Decentralized
Quote:
Starting in a few months, millions of online ‘pirates’ will be monitored as part of an agreement between the MPAA, RIAA and all major U.S. Internet providers. Alleged infringers will be notified about their misbehavior, and repeat offenders will eventually be punished.
........
In June the MPAA and RIAA announced a ‘ground-breaking’ deal with all the major Internet providers in the United States. In an attempt to deter online piracy, a third-party company will monitor BitTorrent and other public file-sharing networks and collect the IP-addresses of alleged infringers

You want to encrypt yourself? That sounds kinda strange.

I actually don't pirate anything anymore, really. Between youtube, Netflix, and all the music streaming sites I don't ever feel compelled to.

It isn't only about ''hate'' than the ''man in the street'' really grasp the reason(s) behind the position of his group/contry/etc... .

I don't really warez anything anymore, so it's not a big deal. My actual bandwidth use is pretty heavy these days, but it's all legit.

The only gray area left is my obsession with Touhou remixes, but I doubt the RIAA cares much.

So, how do you guys watch anime? Wait till it's available in the U.S., crunchyroll or what? I mean animesuki.com is a warez site after all.

Only anime I've watched in the past two years have been through Crunchyroll and Netflix. And that's not saying much; I've only seen 2-3 series in that time span (there's a reason I feel more at home in general chat than the other sections... )

Well, I did stream DBKai 'illegally,' but I DO own every VHS of Dragonball Z from the 90's so it doesn't count as much.

I generally only watch a couple of shows a season, and usually at least one of them is on noitaminA. Funi streamed their shows for the last couple of years; now Crunchyroll has picked up the gauntlet with its release of Usagi Drop. I think the only show I've watched completely in subs this year is Madoka.

For American viewers of most "mainstream" shows, in which I include the vast array of shows targeting adolescents, they can satisfy their desires on the streaming sites. My problem is that I enjoy obscure shows aimed at more mature viewers like Hyouge Mono and Shouwa Monogatari which will never get streamed or released on DVD/BD in R1. For those I have to resort to torrents. Unfortunately both these shows appear to have abandoned by their subbers, so I'm pretty much out of luck. I really wish that some of the current fansub groups would turn their attention away from producing redundant subs of shows on the streaming sites and focus on the more obscure shows instead. Doubt that will happen, though.

You said it brother, do we really have to have to have 5 different interpretaions of (insert otaku wet dream show here) every year?

It is true though, thanks to streaming becoming more high quality I don't feel compelled to download crap anymore. My bro has been watching Bleach via hulu for months.

Protestors burn US flag outside embassy in London
Quote:

Protesters outside the US embassy in London have set fire to a US flag during a
minute's silence held to mark the moment when the first hijacked airliner hit the
World Trade Centre in New York 10 years ago.

A number of radical Islamic groups including Muslims Against Crusades (MAC)
gathered outside the embassy on the tenth anniversary of the attacks.

The police shouldn't have moved the EDL away. It would've been great to see two groups of assholes beat the crap out of each other.
