Well, due to there only being 4 episodes that left until Season 1 is completed, some Drama should be expected, especially since Nanami said she has to leave if she fails. Of course, Sorata will probably try to prevent that from happening.

Heh, it is kind of hard writing this on my Nexus.
Anyhow, cannot wait to see the 21st piece of greatness!

Spoiler for Episode 21:

As the Sakurasou residents are now preparing a new school plan, Sorata suddenly realizes that Nanami is now failing her final step of audition. Because of that, she prefers to leave for herself, but Sorata try his hardest to prevent this from happening by arguing against her in rain. After that, Sorata suddenly finds a fallen letter, causing Mashiro to quit Sakurasou. I have strong feels watching the entire episode (such as feeling shocked for Sorata acting weird, Nanami's tears falling nonstop as well the whole Sorata's bitching), especially the end where Sorata suddenly abandons Mashiro and I was very sad because of that. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved in the next 3 episodes, and I think it will.

Well, an action such as Sorata abandoning Mashiro was to be expected, since only something like that could bring a strong, powerful and happy ending, probably resulting in tears of the main characters and hugging, as well as a possible kiss (although a kiss is not much likely to happen). A reunion after a fight/an argument, that is classic for a strong romantic ending, wouldn't you agree?

Now why did I see this one coming from 10 miles away. Can you have 2 "chase to the airport in the last second" scenes in one anime?

Though I have to admit, for once Sorata's bitching isn't completely incomprehensible. That letter is seriously rubbing salt in a wound. But he could have seen that coming as well I guess.

Actually he only bitched for good reasons this episode, and that letter was just an horrible demonstration of how the real world work .

Poor Kanda & Aoyama. Normals never being able to catch a break.
Liked the rain scene where Aoyama got to vent her sorrow instead of trying to bottle it inside.

During the rain scene,
Kanda should have went, "These past two years weren't a waste. You met me." Then gave her a deep kiss on the lips. Aoyama Route Set.

Really, no idea why Shiina is such a big love interest for Kanda, she's too far above him. The big skill difference will only encourage the inferiority complex in Kanda. Just marry Aoyama and have a normal average life.

Also, oh man @ the end of Sakurasou 21.
Shiina not even trying and something she drew in her sleep ends up getting a job offer from the game company Sorata tried to make his game with.

Absolutely agree. It's like the world is literally rubbing the fact that Shina is ultra talented in his face, even though he is quite aware of it. Very few people would not react negatively to that news. It sucks that he doesn't even get enough time to vent and rage because he has to worry about Shina's hurt feelings again. Well, stuff like that should be done in private.

No kidding. Sorata has some justification to feel that way. I mean you work your hardest to accomplish something but another managed to do so with little to no effort. That really has to hurt your self-esteem. It also makes you question why are you even trying in the first place.

There will be always someone better than you. Poeple have to learn to deal with it.

You are 100% right. That is the logic of this world. There is no one in this world who is the best, there is always someone better than you are and there is always someone worser than you are.

When it rains, it pours.

Another dramatic episode, with rain as a huge focus. It is like the world is crying with them.

Mashiro really is innocent in all this, yet she, as usual, gets the blame for breathing. She helps Sorata to increase his chances for the game, but for her efforts, he ends up jealous again. No good deed goes unpunished, I guess. So now, she ends up having to sacrifice herself for the sake of her loved ones.

Yes, Sorata and Nanami had things that were very painful and sad for them. The world really is unfair. So what can you do? Give up? Or fight back with all your might? I think a good lesson to be learned is that if you cannot achieve something on your own (genius people), then you can achieve something great if you work together with the strengths of each person. That was shown during the school festival. That will also probably be key for how things can work out in the future.

So the company rejected Sorata? How about the Sakurasou gang put together a competing product and put the company to shame? Yes, it can be difficult, but it is still a possibility.

Easier said than done for some. Especially true for those who spent most their lives working hard to accomplish something for themselves only for their efforts to be wasted due to talented managed to do so with less effort.

In a way, Kanda's character development would be letting go truly his inner resentment towards those who are talented.

It's easy to say "learn to deal with it". That shit would hurt if it happened to most people pursuing their dreams. Plus, Sorata wasn't necessarily attacking or yelling at Shina like he did the other times. And he is improving at not letting such a situation get him down and to continue to work. But there is a limit to failing and not seeing the fruits of your hard labor. These are growing pains.

Did you want to become a soccer player? Did you work hard for it? Did you suffer failures after failures? Were you living next to someone who has achieved everything in life while you're just a nobody?

Don't force your expectations on other people and assume that your way is the right way.
