I'm in love with almost all of the Fate series' soundtrack really, but really...

Town of Crimson.

Colliding Souls.

Changing Seasons.

Oath Sign.

Sword of Promised Victory.

IMO, these are the themes that capture the story best, and evoke the most emotion from me in the context in which they are played. Oath Sign represents the first half of Fate/Zero perfectly by itself. The tense feeling of scheming and seeking your opponent, heading into the action, and the moment of sudden relief at the end when the conflict is suddenly over. Yep. Best song they could have chosen for the OP.

The new one two posts above me however, seems pretty flat save for the chorus at the beginning. I keep thinking it's going to build up into something, but really, the intro is all it's got. Just keep playing Oath Sign with a new animation sequence and I'll be happy.

Agreed on the new OP fitting better with the series. I think it's appropriate that they're using it with the second half.

OST due out soon, can't wait to get my hands on that one and have a good listen.

To each his own. For me, Oath Sign is just a pretty generic anime song with a pretty generic singer as well. It could have been the OP for nearly anything (not that to the beginning couldn't, mind you). If I recall correctly, even the lyrics are not thaaaat F/Z-ish either.

About the soundtrack, some very nice songs, others very bland. That's Kajiura for you, I guess.

I think they purposely left the better tracks in the second part

There's a lot of tracks from the first season that didn't make it in this part. This one seems to be more about sounds and percussion tracks.

Track 11 is the one i was hoping would appear on the first soundtrack release, so i'm 100% officially happy now.

Yeah, it's a generic song, but I think it has just what it needs to be catchy. No need to stray from a proven formula when the original is still toe-tapping good.

Point Zero, Let the Stars Fall Down, The Battle is to the Strong, The Legend (Rider's song has a fitting title), The beginning of the End, If you Leave, Painful, Rule the Battlefield, Tragedy and Fate.

That's why I said to each his own as well, because Lisa's vocals kill the song for me. Well, I think the fact that I was expecting a different kind of song for F/Z because it seemed like a TV series that called for a different song than the average gas helium of nowadays may have played a part in my dislike of oath sign.

Thats close to most of the songs i liked from the track!

Except i also liked Grief, which is pretty much the piano version of Tragedy & Fate.

Point Zero & The Battle is to the Strong is so Epic.

The Fate/Zero OST is splendid so far, but I think that if Kaijura doesn't remix Emiya there will be something missing from it all

Gotta agree. I don't know if they will put the Emiya Time Alter from the Drama CDs on the anime but certainly a Emiya remix by Kaijura would be welcomed.
