Ah, if the original character in the novel was female... the whole keeping a clean and pure image and not wanting to do a sex scene thing would have fit better.

I think the series had the same problem when they decided to portray Toriyama (the novel writter episode) as a male too. The sexual harassment scenes with the dirty old man character would have made more sense if they kept the character as a female... the chicken transformation would have fit better as well.

I guess only the male seiryu were brave enough for the live action bits...

Anyway, moving on...

Wow, Ep.10... just wow... my definite favorite so far.

Yeah i'll agree, episode 10 is the best episode we've seen upto now. Especially when the scene started in the car towards the end, beautiful piece of music there.

In the last episode we'll have Tohru Furuya.

What a treat that will be.

I really liked the touch of the Owner not turning into something after the show. That revelation made it the best episode in my opinion too.

Woaaah Furuya! Awesome! Probably his first live-action appearance! Also liking the touch of the final two episodes featuring veteran seiyuu. Okiayu FTW too.

Ep. 10 was the best one for me too so far. His initial appearance and those flashbacks threw me for a loop though.

Last episode was nicely done. Love how it tied in with phone-kun, plus Tohru Furuya was one hell of a treat in this episode. Brilliant performance.

Well i must say i've loved this show. I really had no idea what to expect when it started, and didn't think i'd end up liking it as much as i do now when it's over. I do have a weak spot for episodic shows, and this was one of the best. Would easily do business with again in the future.

Excellent series and excellent finale--a final episode that caught me by surprise, seeing as it was pretty hard to do for this sort of series. 2009 was a dry year, I'm having trouble thinking of anything noteworthy that's aired last year other than this show. I might have to revise what I've watched, but this probably ranks amongst the top shows.

Last episode was great. Tohru Furuya was awesome ! I think his vitamin shot was one of the best

, and Mayumi looked even prettier than usual in this episode, nice to see her get a more active role than usual in this episode.

It's a shame there weren't any female patient in the series. Anyone know why? I assume female seiyuus weren't too keen on the idea of appearing on TV.

Maybe the folks at noitamina were trying to catch the attention of an adult male audience this time around. Beside, the next show in this timeslot is Nodame (josei), so it's pretty much one for the guys, one for the girls, and so on.

You know, it's quite funny how i never thought to myself until now regarding the no female patients.

But yeah what kazu-kun said sounds spot on.

Most of the females in the series were in traditional roles. There was pnly 1 manager in the whole series and she didn't have a problem. I thought it was quite interesting showing the guys cracking under pressure needing psych help.

Anyone else loved the way the Cell-phone kid's mother looked during the last episode? It was positively, absolutely, awesome (to watch, to watch as a viewer, I would hate to be involved -_-)

The weird thing is there are female patients in the novel but they were changed to men in the anime. No idea why but I remember someone pointing out that they had been changed. Maybe it was easier to have the "injection" scenes with males

Spoiler for episode 10: The flashbacks were clearly post-war, fifties and sixties (fashions a dead giveaway), and I was thinking the character didn't look old enough for that. But the opening line after his shot was that he hadn't turned into an animal - well, he was one all along, and the way you saw the character throughout was his 'inner self' depicted by animals in the previous episodes. It was only at the end when he was seen as an old man that you saw what he really looked like. That made sense, in a strange way. Last episode next time!
