Hiyokoi Manga

Hmm ... having recently watched last year's OVA I was curious if there were a thread dedicated to this manga and did not find any - so I thought it was deserving of it's own thread.

It is shoujo style, and somehow reminds me a little of Kimi ni Todoke in some ways. It is definitely a "D'awww!" stroyline, and if you like such things you might give this one a try.

If I remember correctly there are presently 6 chapters translated into English?

Anyhoo, has anyone else read this one?

I've only read the first 3 or 4 chapters but so far it hasn't been extremely annoying like a lot of shoujo ends up being.

It is slowly developing ... although in a way quite different than Kimi ni Todoke - a LOT more "directly confrontive" as of chapter 7.

Take that all you naysayers who simply say Hiyokoi is a KnT "ripoff"!

Yep, that seems to be the general reaction

How many chapters of the manga does the OVA cover?

Kyaa C7 ended on a scary cliff hanger, I get the feeling he doesn't want to date anyone. Maybe something in the past happend? Or maybe he likes her too!! but, if he does then that's a little quick for me lol.

I discovered this series a couple of days ago, and I have really taken a liking to it. The premise seems similar to Kimi ni Todoke at first, but the characters are actually pretty different. It was obvious that Kazehaya fell hard for Sawako almost from the beginning, but here, I don't really know what the lead guy is feeling. He seems to care for Hiyorin, but I'm not sensing romantic feelings. I wish he'd give her some sign if he does like her romantically. Hopefully, we get more explanation of why he just rejects any girl who's interested in him.

or if the manga is still being written?
and neone's thoughts on making the manga into a whole series instead of just an OVA

According to ja.wikipedia it's still being serialised in Ribon. Three tankōbon have been published so far, and the fourth one is due out next month. I'm not sure how many chapters that equates to - has anyone bought them?

I've read it in my monthly subscription to Ribon. It is very cute. XD Us super-short heroines need more attention!

There's an OVA!? As vexed as I am that this got one and Sakurahime Kaden did not,

MUST FIND.

lol

[edit]

Holy crap that was cute. XD
