The lack of the "Zaijian!" during her departure scene was what irked me the most.

After the real deal started though, things got really better. A faithfull adaptation of the manga, I really enjoyed the comical capture-the-badges scene, and Yue's magic was far more impressive animated then it was in the manga. Of course seeing Asuna and Chao animated was what made this feel perfect to me, despite Chao's low screentime.

The animation style didn't feel special though... its almost as if they kept is simple so they could use the same style for a TV series...
A more manga faithful 3rd TV series would be wonderful but lets not get our hopes up to soon, I'm still waiting on another FMP! season.

Considering that it came with the manga (only with the manga?), I think they assume that watchers have read the manga up to this point. And I guess it was never part of their focus to begin with. They put it in there to make us happy :P

Hey, it actually works out perfectly for us in America. We just got volume 18 released some time ago.

Doesn't the anime art look a lot like the manga's? It just feels so different from all the other anime out there. I was so impressed that I felt like I was watching the manga - animated.

Neither SHAFT nor Ken Akamatsu have anything to do with FMP...

I'm aware of that, Shouji Gatou and KyoAni are the people behind FMP, I was referring to the fact that it may be a long wait.

Yeah, you're probably right. I guess I just got too worked up over the Chao screenshots.

Yes, that was really satisfying to watch.

I still wish it was the tournament arc that was animated, though it's more Negima! so i can't complain at all.

Anyway, doesn't it depend on the sales on this that we'll see a movie?

I believe it was 50k preorders for a movie, 100k preorders for a third series.

seen the whole OAD, and even though it starts slightly arupt if you haven't read the manga beforehand, then its really faithfull to the Manga only taking small artistic freedoms, all of them understandable

It's hard to say which one i'd be more happy with, though i guess it depends on who'd be working on what project.

The counter's been stuck at 82581 for quite a while now. I'm guessing that's the end of the preorders for OAD 1.

Hm...the counter on the site has been taken down and replaced with something. According to my attempts with Babelfish, they're doing a questionnaire for which of the early chapters (first 213?) should be turned into CD dramas. Not sure how many they plan on recording (I almost thought 2).

Also, there seems to be mention of another drama CD. I don't know.

I doubt this is the result of all those pre-orders, and is just another piece of merchandise to buy.

Whatever, maybe someone with real Japanese skills (or a friend) can translate all that properly.

There is going to be another drama CD coming out, and it will contain two stories. The first story will be based on chapter 181 of the manga
Spoiler for chapter 181:
The other story will be determined by the poll that you've mentioned.

Well it was everything the other 2 series weren't thats for sure. Leaves me wanting to see the many other things not animated aswell though...Such a short little bit given for the school festival is depressing.

It did confirm for me though that Shafts style wasn't what made me drop the second series it was just how completely unrelated it felt to Negima to the point that it didn't even feel like the same characters...
