No, new characters don't necessarily make for a better story but new characters allow for a new direction. I think what Deacon meant was that having entirely new characters allows for a story that's non-inclusive of the older characters. Thus, you end up not having that "dead weight", so to speak, tying you down as you try to move forward...

whats up with some people hating the seed cast every 2 post? i dislike 00 cast but you dont see me hating on them on anything related to 00. some people need to grow up. if your cup of tea isnt the CE, there still unicorn which is something always to look foward to.

The only problem is the huge % female fans only interesting homos males thats the reason why those staff took advantages to make rating so popular.

Lets hope they make leading protagonist women we've seen enough of gays version series.

Sure, but that still has nothing to do with making a better story. And any character, old or new, can be a "dead weight" if you don't do anything with them.

If, and I do stress if, there is another CE series, I'd like to see the protagonist, if it is not Kira again, be a Natural. I was all for seeing a female protagonist until I met D-KLAC, so I'd rather not have a female protagonist in the next series.

I think that Kira should put over Shinn and become his mentor for the next SEED project. Athrun tried to do that in Destiny. Also, Lacus needs to be humanized (i.e., remove the Mary Sue-ness).

I've been wondering... is Morosawa really overprotective of Lacus?

I don't know what's wrong with killing (or lat least, making them MIA) SEED's Big Four (Kira, Athrun, Lacus, Cagalli) off? Amuro's and Char's fates are still unknown after Char's Counterattack, and yet they're still popular.

Because you can't deny the fact that they ruined GSD. I didn't hate Kira or Lacus until GSD, honestly. It has nothing to do about growing up or not. I have high tolerance for anime character (I'm not sure you people remember me, who kept defending Suzaku in Code Geass because I think he has his reason), but in Kira and Lacus's case, there is a limit at how ridiculous it can be. I am not hating Seed cast, I just hate those 2. In fact, I hate those 2 in anime form. At least in SRW I still like them to the certain.
The fanbase didn't help either.

As for female protagonist, I remember there is Ecole du Ciel, isn't it?

Just something quick, I don't think there will be a female Gundam protagonist at least in a TV series. In OVA and manga, it's more likely to happen as opposed to TV. Since Gundam in particular, it's aimed at young kids or salaryman adults (since Unicorn went to the old style designs).

well yea female protagnist got be like female version of amuro, heero, kira, athrun, set-light, etc other male lead but as a female.

also yet IF they did go for a female any idea for the seiyu give my suggest wolud be a female seiyu with no gundam experience.

what?! Lightning s awesome.. that only thing that destroyed her persona was Snow and Serah..

please, not another 00 series.. no offense but 00 was meh.. the mecha designs, for me, was terrible.. and Setsuna being a rip-off of Heero?? gimme a break, Heero was a better protagonist really..

I'd prefer another CE series possibly a hundred years after GSD to start something new.. although I wouldn't mind if Kira takes the spotlight again.. this time, hopefully, he will be up against someone related to his past.. I'll just pretend Shinn did not exist..

They need to milk up CE series more..

UC series?? well, if it's a direct sequel to Gundam UNicorn then I would watch it.. provided that Banagher and Mineva are still the leading cast . I know Unicorn is not finished yet but hey, who knows..

Another WING series?? nah, GWING is too milked up in my opinion.. it already ended when the total disarmament treaty happened so i highly doubt another series related to WING would come out..

so i think it's either gonna be a CE series or a direct sequel to Gundam Unicorn
