Sky Girls boring and repetitive?
No. What you're referring to is in-episode pacing that stayed consistent throughout the series, except for the last three episodes, which can give that kind of impression. Leaving Kanon aside (it felt waaay overdone, for me), I have a hard time remembering an anime title that took as much time as it needed to comfortably develop all the main characters and the story, such was the case with Sky Girls. |

Too much time you mean. As I said, I was expecting a bit more not that it reflect everyone's tastes.
But if you want character development done in a slow yet comfortable (and enjoyable) way, I point to Kurenai ^^ And I had a look at the short OVA for this series. I don't have much of an opinion on it as to me the sky girls OVA had more impact. But it was short and sweet (though I wonder how they are going to get through such a large cast...probably not ).

The thing with Sky Girls is that it was more of a Slice-of-Life show in a military setting than a full blown action flick ... i wouldn't blame people if they expected the later though. I enjoyed that show for what it was, and if Strike Witches is anything like it i am along for the ride.
I just hope there won't be any yuri undertones in face of apparent absence of a male cast ... though i suppose some people would disagree with my "hopes" here

The problem I had with Sky Girls is that it got the Girls part down, but not so much the sky. They spent so much time dawdling around in rather uninteresting and often derivative independent character stories rather than actually going out and doing anything that it just started to drag like Gundam Seed Destiny. It was like 7 episodes before they actually got out of the simulators and then the episode where they got the order that they were about to leave Obama it wasn't until three episodes or so later that they actually did. Even once they got on the boat there still wasn't very much going on because they kept going for shore leave. (this is where the series started to remind me of Gundam Seed Destiny because every 2-3 episodes they were on damn shore leave again)
Any episodes that focused on Karen also made my eyes immediately glaze over because it was never about anything so much as her obsessing over her brother who we never even get to see. Really I wouldn't have minded all the focus on the character if they'd bothered to make it somewhat unique and interesting, but they didn't, and that's why a part of me hopes this one is just an action driven series. At least then it will be interesting on some level, like uhhh.... I don't know Episode 15 of Gundam X (I Wonder If There's A Heaven) or any of the Turn A Gundam episodes that took place in Vicinity, Nocis, or on one of the farms. |

Strike Witches to be Streamed Online for Overseas Audiences on YouTube & Crunchyroll
I suspected that the Strike Witches TV anime would follow in the footsteps of other GONZO anime productions, The Tower of DRUAGA -the Aegis of URUK- and BLASSREITER.
According to GONZO parent company GDH, the 1-cour, 12-episode Strike Witches television anime series will be offered to viewers overseas on YouTube and crunchyroll.
