^Klein quotes, privately, via a source...

The only real link we have is Edward Klein, who wrote a universally panned book on Hillary Clinton in 2005 which was full of, well, bullshit.

Next.

Edward Klein is usually tagged in the "village idiots and clowns" humor section, kind of like David Barton and his bizarro world hallucinated imaginary version of Thomas Jefferson.

This is why I tell the person making $200,000~ a year and the person making $20K a year they're indistinguishable peasants to the top 1%. All that's happening is that the $200K peasant is more often fooled into thinking the shit falling on them from the modern "aristocracy" is somehow shinier and to watch out for that $20K peasant.

And no, the top 1% isn't "creating jobs" - they're actually reducing the available employment opportunities. Job creation is most often sprung out of the shinier peasant bracket.

Analysis: Hospital investors sold on U.S. health reform despite bumps

Other investors have expressed concern about the many variables still to be worked out, including whether key Republican-led states like Texas and Florida will accept federal funding to expand their Medicaid programs for the poor, helping pay for the care that hospitals in those regions now deliver for nearly no compensation.

"It will be rough, it will be rocky, and it will take time," said Tim Nelson, analyst with Nuveen Asset Management, which owns shares of Universal Health. Nelson believes other names in the sector are fully valued.

Well, I'm sure we used to have such deal between the Eisenhowers and the Nixons around the 1960 election. Big deal.

Their graph points out something I've found strange for years. Given how damn much the 1% has, why aren't there more tax brackets on the higher end of the scale? It seems as if the upper middle class and "lower tier" rich people are always getting lumped in with the monetary monstrosities. That 1% is who should really be targeted tax-wise. Why is someone making $500,000 in income taxed the same way as someone making $5 million, $10 million, $20 million etc?

You make some of the peasants think they have shinier hats and the shit that falls on them is better, that way they help you keep the other peasants down.

The state usually grabs it's share when valuables change hands.

That is not the way the very rich gain wealth. Not directly at least. Rather they own something (shares in a coorporation for example) and that something becomes more valuable, increasing their wealth without them directly earning anything.

Taxes will be due only when they sell their shares, but there are other ways to extract money without doing that.

The amount of actual taxable top incomes must be very small compared to this.
Even though it's not fair, creating tax classes that only affect a handful of people is not worth the effort apparently.

The rich are supposed to be taxed through capital gains (making money with money) but our capital gains taxes are insultingly low.

They also used to tax capital gains to encourage long-term investment ... which kept the stock market much more stable for small investors. Yet another law changed to suit the big boys.
