It's a good "epic OP" song, but I do agree that it's needlessly overblown. If anything, I think it would have been more appropriate of Kabuki in the way of keeping Happy Bite for the first two episodes, then use this OP for the last two episodes to match with the mood shift of the story.
Not sure what to think of the animation itself though: Ueda's art is as good as ever and it's good to see it used in a "cinematic styled" OP context, but at the same time it makes it strike as tacked-on to me compared to the other S2 OPs. Still not bad in itself since it's good for what it is, but right now I prefer the other S2 OPs, especially the Neko Shiro/Koi ones. (By the way I know I'm late for mentioning this, but the name "White Lies" is a strange choice for this arc considering how S2's first arc fits to the song's name better) |

Also, if anyone here is completely aware of, Perfect Slumbers, Chocolate Insomnia and Happy Bites were using the same animation style: Vector animation. |

In its place they'll be rebroadcasting earlier episodes with the character commentary from the BD/DVD releases. They're taking votes for the particular episodes to show, with a message box if you want to express your displeasure directly to the production committee.

Bake, Nise, Kuro and SS are entirely different shows when you add the commentaries.
This is good news for me since someone might sub those episodes for the international fans to enjoy Same old SHAFT with the production delays. Nothing new. They be bringing all their resources on Mekakucity acturrrsss. |
