As volume 2 finally hits the stores, those who can't yet get it ( like me, unfortunately) can find some solice in a new fan remix of new footage and old sound, this time for episode 5, the floating continent.

I can't wait to see the actual episode. Love the detail of using the rocket anchor to stop the ship. And pay atention, we don't see it fire but we see it retracting. And those final shots of the scrred Jupiter (or Zupist, as the Gamilans (yes, that's the term they're using in the subs) call it) is just...WOW. I WANT THIS SO BAD!!! Wallet, Y U no filled with cash?!

From what little I see of the anchor scene, it reminds me of the original's arrival at Pluto. Were they needed to slow down, so they fired the rocket anchor into Pluto's moon...and then wiped around it while trying to break sideways. Hoping (in vain) they were out of reach of the new Gamilas heavy weapon (since they were on the far side of Pluto from the Gamilas base and on the other side of Charon from Pluto as well. To bad the Reflex Gun can turn corners.)

Why the spoiler tag in this? XD Can you tell me what issue that poster is from? Seems Megami Magazine will do a full set of beach/pool related posters, first Yuki and now Makoto and Yuria. Kaoru and Akira next? Strange they were left for last as they have become more known and had more air time.

Never quite been a fan of thongs, but that's nice looking.

At Otakon 2012, Funimation licensed the Yamato Resurrection film, so I'm wondering if there's a possible 2199 license in the future?

Maybe after it is finished. While it is doing will in ticket sales and disc sales, no idea how it would do on television. But I want to find out.

(My Chapter 2 copy isn't here yet. I imagine it will arrive Monday.)

Reading the last ten pages, a lot of he speculation and arguments about the details concerning 2199 can be answered by reading the reports and translated interviews featured at the official Star Blazers website. I think we can save a lot of bandwidth here by checking them out...

As for the Gamilas naming of the planets of our Solar System, we have (so far): "Teron" (Earth), "Zupisto" (Jupiter), "Zedan" (Saturn), and "Puraato" (Pluto).

I like to put pics in spoiler tags to save space and keeps things neat (also because people's monitors might get distorted by images stretching the thread out, I've seen a couple of AS members complain about it in the past). So I just do it as a courtesy.

As for your other question, I have no idea. XD

Knowing Funmation, all of 2199 will be done and on TV before they get around to releasing it.

On that note, vol 2 should also be here next week. I can't wait to see what we have been watching fragments on the last 2 months. My anticipation of this series is far greater than UC. The detail of this remake is spectacular. The little adjustment bits Kodai is conducting with the Yamato in final preparation for firing of the Wave Motion gun is evidence of that.

Scary thought. With all these 1/1000th scale ship models coming out...Zordar's Dreadnaught would be about 40 feet long (12.2 meters).

(I'd like to see that actually)

That's probably because there's a growing trend in the American anime market to release entire series at once on DVD.

Note: The package has arrived.

It is odd to me that the BD doesn't have its region code listed on the packaging.

Hopefully yours arrived in one piece. Some jerk tried to open my package. Amazon packed it so securely that even when it got partially open, the BDs were stuck in the container. Needless to say I'm indebted to Amazon Japan.

Watched 3-6 tonight, the story compression feels a bit rushed, but some very nice work and am guessing that will pay off in giving the middle/end the time it needs. Had to loan 1-2 to my fx sup, so no chance to see/do a 1-6 til this weekend, and have scheduled a surprise showing for a friend a few weeks after. I think I'll know this series better than the '74 soon!

No questions I feel an immediate need for answers to (well okay, one or two more), but damn it's going to suck waiting...

Today was definitely Yamato day for me: 1/500 kit (to go with Leijiverse ships), 1/1000 2199 kit, BD 2, and am going through FactFiles 1-80 randomly as well as 2199 books one and two while lighting and rendering. OD'ing. :-)

Peace all, g'night.
