That was pretty funny. I knew Aharen was voiced by Inori Minase (making her Quiet Chino) and so she would obviously start talking often at some point and was wondering what would trigger it... turns out she still talks super quietly but the MC has developed super hearing from straining his ears to hear her

That was fine. I'm pretty confident this won't be one of my top shows of the season. But it was fine. Once Aharen actually started talking I started getting more into it. There was only so much the main guy could do with his one-man-show routine.

At least this relationship is giving the MC supernatural levels of hearing. Not sure when that will ever pay off for him outside of hearing Aharen, but it's handy. Could lead to a few funny moment with him seeming to talk to himself since no one will be able to hear her .

Should be fine, but nothing crazy good.

That was disgustingly cute lol I do wonder, what do their classmates think about them? 'Damn the 2 weirdos hooked up real fast'? or something along those lines

The thing that got me about this show is how it's clearly set in an alternate world or other time where the smartphone and text messaging have not been invented, so rather than just texting each other they have to resort to extreme measures like carrier pigeons and morse code.

(and really, given how she was flicking bits of paper at his head while he was having a wazz, that message arrow thing could have gone badly wrong).

It's a tale as old as time...a boy with a rough looking face trying to make friends in high school befriends a quirky, isolated, young girl...and it's as adorable as ever, with strong, understated, performances from Takuma Terashima and Inori Minase .

The Opening is pretty cute and fun, showing off Aharen, Raido, the supporting cast, and focusing on the main leads' growing relationships. Also looked like they were about to kiss at one point .

I'm genuinely surprised that Raido and Aharen kept communicating seemingly during class but never got caught. At least in Takagi-san poor Nishikata often got called out .

I love how Aharen just jumps on Raido like they're already dating. We learn later that it's because she doesn't seem to quite understand the concept of personal space which is why she wasn't able to make friends in middle school, but it's really hard not to mistake them for a couple .

I was actually thinking to myself that maybe Raido should learn lip reading, which he actually tries, but thank goodness he didn't actually master it otherwise he would've realized what his little sister was actually saying...and Aharen's mouth doesn't move enough to lip read .

You have to admire Raido's commitment to learning to communicate with Aharen, and you can see how much she appreciates it, but I guess all that work paid off in the sense of granting him super-hearing .

Arcade Master Aharen-san! She's apparently such a regular that they assist her at the snap of a finger. And it was very kind of her to give all those plushies to Raido, thinking he wanted them, and equally nice of Raido to just give them to her. Raido's poor sister though .

The Ending is pretty soothing and sweet, focusing mostly on Aharen and showing her in various outfits .

Looks like that one girl doesn't appreciate Raido getting chummy with Aharen .

That's only be true if they touch on the subject.
And they probably won't. Because the point of this anime is to watch this pet cuddle with the protagonist. Turn off brain and enjoy the cuteness, thing. Actually going into all the problems the characters demonstrated would be noise for this main objective.
But hey, I'd open for this anime proving me wrong. I personally welcome it.

What's with people shoving something serious into a fluffy show?

Not like it will be remembered after this season anyways. Actually, I think even in this season, there is another something-something something-san

Right. All the more reason to just sit back and enjoy the show.

Was looking forward to this series, but ep1 gave me a huge MEH. I was already annoyed by the show going over the same gags by the second half.

Dropped

It's kinda lacking in energy. Maybe ep2, with another character, will be better?
