I think it's a mistake to judge Hanekawa by her surface features. Moreso than even the other characters, Hanekawa is defined by what she's hiding. She puts on the act of the perfect daughter, the perfect classmate, the perfect student, but it's always been an act. What really motivates her? How does she really feel? And it's not just love. Or even if it was just love, you should still look at the reasons behind her love.

I won't say you have to like her, and I personally don't find her very likeable, but you have to look a bit more closely than that to really get an accurate judgment.

@Clarste: During the OVA part of her arc, that was shown... that is the collusion between her true nature and the way she wanted to be perceived... being possessed actually made her realize it herself, well along with Hitagi "stealing" her "white knight".

Anyway, here the consequences of the events at the end of Bakemonogatari are obvious, it's not just the hair-cut, she is more outgoing, aggressive, playful... is more like she accepted the cat inside her (its perspective to be precise)

The former-class-president comment from Shinobu, I think was made in this context, not referring to the class-president's braids and glasses

That's not nearly the half of it, based on what I read into her character. It's important to note that her problem still hasn't been truly resolved. And Kizumonogatari gives you even more to work with. She's way more troubled than a mere love triangle.

Yup, and I want to remind everyone again to please not make any comments that allude to things that anime-only viewers aren't supposed to know yet. Even giving hints about what to pay attention to, and where the focus is (or how it fits into context) could easily spoil things in this sort of show.

(That's not directed at you or anyone in particular... but just a reminder that novel readers really need to guard their comments carefully because they'll inevitably see things that others can not, and sometimes may not even realize that other people won't see that yet.)

so why does Shinobu have to live in Araragi's shadow now instead of like the corner of a room in Oshio's place?

Because Oshino is no longer there I think.

Or maybe it's not so much "has to" as "chose to". That way, she's close to Araragi and doesn't get just watch paint dry.

I liked Bakemonogatari series, but the continuation is kindo annoying. I dont mind ecchi per se, but if 90% of all scenes show girls in erotic poses, it gets old pretty fast.

I am dropping this..... maybe a guy can continue watching this.... but for me there is just not enough to keep me interested.

In the original show didn't Araragi not have a shadow anymore? Because Shinobu is his shadow and she was staying with Oshio.

This again... anyone complains about athletes in swimming being scantily dresses or about 15th to 18th century paintings being pornographic or does it reduce their non-porn value

By the same logic guys should drop it also because of the Koyomi service

Hitagi is wise to be somewhat insecure where Tsubasa and Koyomi are concerned.

Cats are excellent hunters or thieves.

Only Tsubasa's self control has kept her in check when it comes to Koyomi... but more importantly, Tusbasa is a traditional type of girl.

As a woman of order Tsubasa had wanted Koyomi to confess to her first.

Hitagi also tried to make Koyomi confess, with he subtle plays and hints, but soon realised he wasn't confident enough to try it, so she changed gears and confessed herself..

That is the difference between Hitagi and Tsubasa.

One is openly passive, the other is openly aggressive.

Hitiagi is willing to change rules and adapt to the situation quickly, Tusbasa is not (likes to lay by the rules).

That being said... Crabs are delicious.

This is why Koyomi is really with Hitagi.

Hitagi is more "tasty" to Koyomi than Tusbasa.

IMO... He just has way more fun being with her.

Hitagi knows this but doesn't take it for granted as she knows Tsubasa (being a cat) could possibly steal Koyomi.

Even Suruga mentions that Tsubasa is the better match for Koyomi.

But Both girls, Tsubasa and Hitagi, are quite tough.

Cats have a tough skin...
Crabs have a hard shell...

I guess Nisio is working his stories with these things in mind ?

I wonder ?

Hanekawa has a notoriously strange sense of humor.

Maybe its the cat in her
