Manga 'Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo' (O Maidens in Your Savage Season) is getting a TV anime adaptation. The story is written by Mari Okada.

Plot

The girls in a high school literature club do a little icebreaker to get to know each other: answering the question, "What's one thing you want to do before you die?" One of the girls blurts out, "Sex." Little do they know, the whirlwind unleashed by that word pushes each of these girls, with different backgrounds and personalities, onto their own clumsy, funny, painful, and emotional paths toward adulthood.

Well, that's currently in my 'show of the season' slot for now, not sure if anything's going to top it.

Tomoyo Kurosawa (playing Hongou) does seem to be channeling Satomi Arai in places, but that worked for me.

Top marks to whoever chose the insert song for that scene, by the way.

This reminded me of Asobi Asobase for some reason, except it wasn't really funny. Well, I guess it's not every day you see an anime about ordinary school girls undergoing their sexual awakening, so I'll stick with it.

Agreed, that was a blast, but Okada anime usually start a lot better than they finish.

As for that scene, I have no problem with Kazusa reacting the way she did - it's understandable emotionally. I will have a problem if Okada tries to paint her as having been anything but 100% in the wrong.

As long as it doesn't Okada Mari at the end, I think this will be good.

You know, I see that name, and I'm like, well, here goes all of the catfights and girls bullying each other crap that she just loves to do.
And I love it too. Best anime this season.

Let me put it another way - Izumi certainly didn’t do anything wrong. Kazusa went into first his house, then his room, uninvited. She invaded his privacy. And of course, her hypocrisy level is off the charts. It’s OK for her to be obsessed with sex, but Izumi isn’t allowed to even think about it?

Her freaking out is understandable under the circumstances, sure. But she really should apologize to him for doing so. He certainly shouldn’t be made to feel guilty or apologize to her (which is pretty much what I expect to happen).

I'm not really sure how you got that interpretation. I don't think she's remotely okay with having sex on her mind constantly and (much like Anthem of the Heart) I don't think the story is letting her off for thinking Izumi was supposed to be what she wanted him to be.

I don’t really think it is either- I just think we’ll know more after next week, when we see their next interaction. I want to see how Okada depicts her reaction after she has time to think about what happened. That should be quite interesting.

That was the pre-airing special from 6/27. I saw that one first, too.
