Weird Anime Theme Song
This isn't really a request for lyrics, moreso I'm trying to figure out what these lyrics MEAN...
I can't really understand the song "Motteke! Sailor Fuku", which is the opening theme to Lucky Star. The lyrics in Japanese and English are here, but apparantly it uses a bit of wordplay that gets lost in translation. Can anyone help me out? Phrases like... "Yeah! The feeling of existence…asteroids They collided and melted together; I’m dumbfounded Singing a lot, Sirenge" and "At vaguely 3cm, is that called squishy? Geez! My wrapping is a uniform… It can’t be disadvantageous, pbbt. I’ll try my best ♥ I’ll do it That and catch & Release, gak In the cleavage of sweat (Fuu) sweat (Fuu), Darlin’ darlin’ F R E E Z E!!" (sounds kinda like a vague sexual reference almost O.o am I way off?) So...yeah...anyone who can understand this better than I can, please give me your take on it... Much appreciated -512 |

As the others have said, you're looking for what's not there. The other parts of the song make more sense. Although I know first hand how sketchy Japanese to English translation is.
I mean when the title translates roughly to "Take it! Sailor Uniform", do you seriously expect the song to make sense?

So like...does that mean that the series is actually intended to have some sort of double-meaning with sex and loli and that kind of thing...or is it intended as a pun or some kind of irony type thing?
Somehow I can't really see Lucky Star as a sexual kind of series...at least not THAT overtly sexual...anyone disagree/agree? -512 |

Yeah it is, nobody seems to make much sense out of it like if it's actually intended to have some sort of double-meaning with sex and loli and that kind of thing...or is it intended as a pun or some kind of ironic meaning to it, like with the intended audience?
Like I said above, I can't really see Lucky Star as a sexual kind of series...at least not THAT overtly sexual...does anyone disagree/agree? -512 |

Also, even if the OP might serve as an introduction to a series, most notably via its images, its lyrics need not be. All it needs is to be fitting to the imagery and have an ungrating-to-the-ear tune(although YMMV here). The best example I can think of is the OP and ED to Hanada Shounen Shi. It has a freaking pair of Backstreet Boys' teenybopping love tunes for crying out loud, but I don't exactly hate them to the core, so its mission is accomplished in my case. And the series isn't a romance series at that. |

Any1 here heard the backward version of this song?
I did, but do not understand Japanese so can't figure out if it have any meaning. But some guys in the "comment" section mentioned the song writer is a "genius", so it may actually meant something.

The Lucky*Star theme is a nonsense songs full of implicit references designed to make otaku stark raving crazy sure that there's something sexual implied. In other words, pure evil.
To respond to the actual TITLE of the thread, I still think the OP to Tsukuyomi Moon Phase is pretty bizarre... or possibly the several OP in Pani Poni Dash.

Not to forget SZS, of course, what with its really scary sounding lyrics. Especially the EDs. And THAT homesick song. |
