And basically this is like another version of manga Judge or Doubt?
I guess one of 15 student is the mastermind (usually... no, must be a girl who look like normal but actually a psycho. maybe dat hot swimmer or the twintail) who control dat cutie monokuma behind the scene...

Eh? which part of the first ep. gave you the impression that MC is coward?? I don't see it at all.

Why would they be free? They need to commit murder to earn their freedom. Having somebody kill himself would be pointless.

Well the way he's acting in this situation is pretty normal given the circumstances and the condition followed. It'll be interesting how a "normal" person can be "extraordinary" when the situation calls for it, and these things happen a lot so, it's possible to be expected.

Spoiler for Just in Case - Rules:

You're right about if the killer gets caught the others get to "graduate" while the killers get punished based off his or her SHSL.

However there's another twist to it. If the killer get away with the crime perfectly, the other remaining students get sentenced to death while the killers becomes the sole survivor and gets to leave.

It's more like one life over the cost of the others, or many lives at the cost of one etc. Something akin to that but I just can't word it properly...

I don't remember them saying that. They only mentioned murder as the way to escape this place. Maybe I missed it.

Murder was mentioned in the first episode, I think what you've read was a synopsis of sorts. Monobear did say "in order to leave you'll have to murder someone", but there weren't any rules or conditions needing to be met after said event takes place. Right now we're at the phase where Monobear is trying to rattle the 15 students into committing something before the real show gets underway.

Is the set up based on a work, or is this the general set-up of most detective fiction novels in general? If so, I would ask the bookgirl if she read anything similar to their situation before she gets killed off, since there exist at least one murderer and one detective.

I already know about the rules. I'm just helping people who're misunderstanding somethings and bring them up to speed. Can't wait to see the reactions of the characters when the rules get laid down if "said incident" does happen if you know what I mean.
