Hmm... well, obviously replicating the impressive art from the VN would be difficult, but all the same I think the key visual and character designs actually looks pretty good

.

Of course, it does look like CG, which if it turns out to be how they're animating it will probably lead to one problem or another

.

I feel the same way ... I'm not an expert so maybe I'm wrong

, but I think there is a difference between creating art for a VN and anime ... I think it's difficult to get the same effect, unless the budget is high enough ...

Ugh... I'm not pleased with the designs... And this was one of my most anticipated series for the fall. Oh well... At least Nagisa looks alright, she's my favorite. But Yui... *sob* so cruel what they did to her.

I personally have a hard time liking or even being attracted to this art style.

I in no way see this as being moe.

I don't mean it's looks cute as in "I like it! wow! super adorbz". I mean it's looks cute as in "uh, the designs aren't quite as mature-looking... do not want".

It's not KyoAni levels of "moe" or anything like that, obviously. But the heads look slightly rounder and the eyes are a bit bigger.

Hmm...the designs do not bother me over much (of course I have not played the game), but for a game infamous for its beautiful art style I can understand some initial disappointment.

And yes - I am also kind of reminded of Iona from Arpeggio a little by the style. Hmm.

Nonetheless still gonna give it a chance!

The word you're looking for is "simplified" or "deteriorated" for all that matters. Because both Misaki Kurehito's or Kantoku's or Range Murata's designs are pretty cute, or "moe" by majority standard, but it still doesn't leave the "complexity".

Well, I'm agree. The anime designer didn't do a good job in keeping the original design.

This is how Sasaki Kaori (And Hasekura Airi) would be looks like with Misaki Kurehito's 'simplified' design:

Okay so what's going on here? The earlier poster image was quite awful to me but this image (and the second part to it with the other two girls on the same site) looks pretty damn nice. I have some minor nitpicks with it though... Kaori's kneecaps are too low, it looks disturbing.

However, I do believe it will be fixed for when the anime starts. Nagisa's hair should be a shade darker, a minor thing. But why does Yui have a different hair color? Grey? She's suppose to have something like a bright silver. At least she still looks nice, I can get used to it.

However, something really worries me about this. Why isn't this art style present in the poster image earlier? Is that magazine scan an old one that was just used to advertise the anime a few months ago or is the scan recent enough to show the final decision of the art style to be used?

Its a character chart for the VN. It doesn't have anything to do with the current anime project. I just wanted to point out that complex art composition is no excuse for deteriorating the original style.

Well, we've got to wait patiently for the PV to be sure how it will be turned out.

hope it's better than mugen mirai, if not this show gonna flop for sure

I still like Mugen Mirai though, actually they don't need to change it. Maybe this just a promotion strategy to sell Satomi Satou's songs.

But those are just busts of character designs. Coloring makes them looks stiffy like Arpeggios arts. It's animated by Feel, not Sanzigen.

10/10 I'm mad. It doesn't even remotely resemble anymore. What is this abomination? Do they gonna pull the hair jokes on us? I mean, look at Kaori's design above! it almost seems like she's gonna eat her own hair.
