Blackbeard and his crew most likely hijacked one of the battleships that picked up Ace. Apparently, he sucked up a bunch of marines in his black hole and spat them back out when he arrived at the prison. As for why a VA didn't stop him..... well, just because there's five VAs, that doesn't necessarily mean that they're all on seperate ships. In fact, they're probably all gathered on a single ship so they can keep a closer eye on Ace. Therefore, Blackbeard and his buddies can jack a ship without anyone noticing...... Edit: Heh, junte86 beat me to it, but at least now we know for certain how Blackbeard arrived. |

Wow. What an unexpected development this is. Blackbeard and his crew showing up at Impel Down is freaking awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing exactly what his intentions are over there.
Laffite having wings certainly explains how he was able to intrude in the Shichibukai replacement meeting at Mariejoia. Mariejoia is located at the very summit of the red line, and with him being a pirate, it's not like he would be granted access at the front entrance since it is heavily fortified. With that being said, him flying up there and sneaking through undetected makes perfect sense. As for the guardian beasts each getting taken in out in one hit, I totally saw that coming. I knew that besides Magellan and Shiryuu, Impel Down's staff would simply be no match for Luffy's new team. It's exactly like the zombie general incident at Thriller Bark, and I think it's a good thing Oda is accelerating the pace here because there are far more pressing matters at hand right now (i.e. Whitebeard's impending attack and Ace's execution) than having time spent dealing with cannon fodder (crappy guardian beasts).

You guys notice time is fading....It's 5 hours till execution of Ace and team "save me" is only on level three. MarvelB and James0246, seems your precious Luffy won't make it to the Holy Land. |

^What does Mihawk really need to say? He is one of only 4 "Named" characters (Whiterbeard = Stongest; Dragon = Most Wanted; Aokiji = most powerful admiral (or was that a translation error?); and Mihawk = Greatest Swordsman), after all. He already stands at the top, and the only way he can go down is if Zoro (and consequently Luffy) manage to climb up there and knock him off. So, there isn't much he can actively say without potentially giving away to much info before his arc comes into play (to put it another way, Itachi didn't even appear for the first 100 plus chapters of Naruto, yet he was a constant pressence throughout every scene with Sasuke, and then after he dealt with Sasuke, he didn't appear for another 100 or so chapters).
That being said, I have never claimed that Luffy was going to be the one that stops the execution (or at least, I have made no such claims since Luffy nearly died a few chapters back ). Right now, Whitebeard is going to be the one to stop the execution (with the off chance that Luffy will be the one to actually frees Ace later (i.e. if the execution is postponed because of Whitebeard's attack)). But, for the sake of argument, it only takes a few hours to travel in-between the Marine bases, so as long as Luffy can set out sometime in the next 1 to 1.5 hours, he should be able to get to the "Holy Land" on time. |

Just because Blackbeard is at Impel Down right now (for reasons unknown), it doesn't mean he won't take part in the upcoming battle. Why don't you just wait and see what his motives are for being there before accusing him of being scared?

Did I say Blackbeard was scared out loud? I was just saying I hope he makes it in time for the bash, Because it would suck, and not truly do anything for his character in the strength department, to pick off a very weakened Whitebeard, In my Roze colored eyes, but will see what happens when it happens.

I was discussing this manga series with my friend, and it was quite funny. He said: "Oh One Piece will never end, Luffy will find One Piece but on that note it shall say 'psyche, go back to first checkpoint'". Or the usual Lufyy is never ever going to find One Piece drill. This manga has been going on for quite a while O_o.

Heh, according to a little summary that aohige gave at AP, Jinbei tells Luffy that he's a much more effective fighter underwater than on land. Of course, this isn't really new info (Kuroobi told Sanji that merpeople are stronger underwater way back in East Blue), but I think this really gives us an idea of how powerful he really is. If he's strong enough to OHKO one of those guardian beasts on land, he'll probably show off even crazier abilities when fighting in the ocean. I'm still hoping that he has a powered-up version of that "ocean splitter" attack that Kapoty of the Foxy crew used......
So anyway, despite the fact that Blackbeard and his homies are at ID, I'm actually predicting that he and Luffy may not actually meet each other.... they'll probably take different paths through the prison. Like maybe Teach will take that elevator straight down to level 6 while Luffy and the rest of the escapees are busy rampaging through the prison. I'm pretty sure that we'll be seeing Shiryuu fight against Luffy's group as well, since we still don't really know what abilities he possesses aside from his swordsmanship skills. Whether or not Blackbeard will eventually ask him to join his crew is still up in the air (though it's definitely possible, since Magellan told Shiryuu that he's going back to death row after he takes care of Blackbeard)....... |

Shiryuu has a high chance of joining BlackBeards Crew, afterall he needs a zoro counter..
-Jimbei said he's more powerful in water.. i guess we will see soon how powerful he is underwater? He could sink down marine ships with ease. - What is magellan going to do? Those named prisoners at lv 6 will they be a part of the mix? He could bribe them but i could see those people joining BB or something. Blackbeard recruiting members? He needs more crew members.. |

You know what the funny thing is? Besides Magellan, the whole Impel Down staff is pathetically weak. Having said this, how would they be able to coerce Shiryuu into confinement again when he's shown that he can slaughter them all with ease? The only person who might be able to pull it off is Magellan, and even then it's not guaranteed since they are both equal in power. In addition, Impel Down's strongest forces (sans Magellan) are all out of the picture now thanks to Luffy's new alliance team. This lack of formidable support (if you could even call it that ) combined with Magellan being busy dealing with Luffy, makes it very improbable Shiryuu will be imprisoned again.

For some reason i could see Blackbeard being at Impel Down to taunt Ace's execution at Luffy, but of course thats just my own fantasy of how events will play out. At this point i wonder why Sengoku would be suprised at anything that the shichibukai do, they can clearly get away with "Bad" behavior.

...Besides the top members (Mr. 2 on down) of Baroque Works, the entire organization was weak... ...Besides the top Priest and Enel, the entire Skypiea organization was weak... Need I go on? There is an old expression that goes "Par for the course." Impel Down is par for the course. No more, and no less. |

It actually kinda makes sense that the ID staff isn't full of powerhouses. The real danger of the prison comes from the various "hells" themselves. I mean seriously, just level 1 alone is pretty crazy..... a forest full of bladed trees, needlelike grass, and poisonous spiders? It's really no wonder the place is widely feared. Yeah, strong guys like Luffy and Crocodile can take the punshment with no problem, but we also have to remember that they're the minority..... we already saw in past chapters how several other prisoners had broken spirits and whatnot......
....And back to the staff, I'm not going to belittle them because they were simply outclassed. The guardian beasts themselves definitely weren't pushovers..... once again, I point out all the effort it took just to KO the minotaur alone. But when you've got a Logia and a merman karate master on your side...... well, the poor animals had no chance. In other words, I'd say that the ID staff's downfall boils down to them simply being unprepared. I mean, Luffy was the first intruder the prison's ever had, and they didn't exactly factor in several of their prisoners living in a secret tranny hideout. There was simply so much confusion that they couldn't handle the situation on their own. If they were aware of Luffy's arrival from the get-go, they would have found it expedient to receive extra help from the marines (maybe station a few VAs in the prison or something, y'know?). But as things currently stand, Magellan and Shiryuu are pretty much the only ones capable of stopping Luffy's group now (I'm not counting Blackbeard's crew.... yet). |
