Dragonball Xenoverse XV

So a new Dragonball game has been announced at E3 for the next-gen consoles. It looks awfully similar to the previous Dragonball games so far, but there's always hope for improvements added to the previous flaws.

Also, a brand new character! Hey, that's something to look forward to... right?

What are your thoughts on the upcoming Dragonball game, Dragon-fans?

I'd say DB games have gotten stale since...4 games ago? Iunno, it just feels like playing the same game over and over again - couldn't they just patch up a previous game instead of releasing an entirely new title?

They really need to create a new engine for DBZ.

The Naruto games aren't this stale, so I know Bamco can do better than this.

Another Dragon ball game? And people try to complain that Call of Duty has become stale. They really need try something different.

To be fair, I didn't even know that there were that many Dragonball games out there. I've heard more about CoD games than Dragonball games, really. Anime games aren't exactly mainstream.

This particular game style has been running since Tenkaichi back in 2005, with the exception of Burst Limit...I think. Kinda stopped caring after a point because the Naruto games were...well, something newer at the time.

The last game, whatever it was called (Battle of Z, I think), was vastly different. And from what I've heard, it was panned quite bad.

Not really. It still had the same issues plaguing the battle system since Tenkaichi - giant stages, homogenized fighting styles, generic ki ball spam, etc.

Battle of Z just made those issues even worse by making the stages bigger.

Well, I meant by how it split everyone up into "classes" and forced some BS 4v4 thing.

Well, if that is a custom created character that you can make and storm through story mode, that would be quite fun. Ultimate Tenkaichi had a good idea with Hero mode, but it wasn't well executed. To me, this looks like a smoother and faster Tenkaichi battle system. Looks interesting so far.

Nah, they like to milk GT characters and concepts (mostly SSJ4 and Baby... don't think they really use anything else from it most of the time) to get money from shit.

Well... with a game like this... I'm going to ASSUME there's alternate timelines and all that... so I guess GT and the movies could work in somehow.

The only successful stories in GT imho. Anything as Vegeta becoming a villain again is makes bucks for Dragonball.

Yeah, they like to use those later crazy things to make new stuff for DB Heroes. They've given everyone but Bardock, Gohan, Goten SSJ3 by this point (including Future/Present Trunks and Future Gohan). They had Baby Janemba, Kibito Kai absorbed Kid Buu, and recently Majin SSJ3 Broly.

^True. Gohan has mystic, Goten is SS1 forever along with GT Trunks not unless counting Teen Gotenks fusion which btw is selling like hotcakes on the mini figure! Bardock never really trained himself to go beyond SSJ, but who knows? Heck even in the new DBHeroes vid Vegeta can transform to SSJ4 without the bruteray.

By Present Trunks, I meant GT Trunks. They gave him SSj3 too. Also, what teen Gotenks is this you speak of?

^Oh yeah that card. Shoot I forgot about it. I'm just surprise Goten/Bardock not giving a push for a SSJ3 look, but who knows.

I mean, as long as the game doesn't actually play like Ultimate Tenkaichi, it should do really well yes?
