Spoiler for ep9:

Surprisingly interesting episode, considering the episode had absolutely no appearance for the protagonist's side.
The fact the new character who goes "Kaa-san" all the time looks like Welkin kind of makes up for it?

Anyways, nice character development for Selveria or however you spell it.
Also shows Lulu's brother and a bit on his position in the family...
Super human assassins... A guy who can defeat one of them... And then a cheat swordsman... Sorry, just kind of laughed...

Wonder if Carl is actually going to play more of a role later other than be an excuse to focus on the empire this episode...

The way Selveria's hair moved in the car in the wind......

I agree, this episode was for first time interesting since the show started ....

The chance for a battle with the Batomys has been and gone. Unless they bring it to another battle, you likely won't be seeing it again.

A very interesting episode that highlights the Imperials. Lots of Selvaria material.

Spoiler for Episode 9:

• Interesting look they gave to Johann. Looks a bit like Welkin or Suzaku. I think they changed the continuity slightly, though, in that Johann showed up AFTER Ghirlandaio was taken.
• Not something I expected, but Jaeger got plenty of spotlight too. I loved when he forced Johann off the road in a "Duke Boys" fashion.
• So the Emperor is something like Caesar? Interesting. Seems also that Maximilian isn't one of his favored sons.
• Whenever I see fat swill-drinking politicians in anime, it makes me feel sick. I dunno why... they just make me ill.
• Of course, the highlight of this episode is Selvaria. Our silver-haired Azure Witch gets to kick some serious ass in this episode while showing a real interesting side to her. And seeing a bruised, teenage version of her? God, that was something.
• Wow, this episode must've had some inspiration from Assassin's Creed. Those guys in the cloaks were pretty sweet. And yet Selvaria kicked their ass like they were nothing! Shows just how wicked sick she is.
• Well, looks like Max can handle himself after all. Definitely an improvement from his game counterpart.
• You know, something tells me that Max's bro sent those assassins. Dunno why, but that's the impression I'm getting.

Again, a great installment, but I'd need to see some subs later. They always enhance the experience.

Spoiler for Next episode:

• Welkin and Alicia get separated from Squad Seven. Plenty of chances for Welkin/Alicia shipping!
• Rosie and Largo are arguing. I'm not too worried; those usually don't end badly. I can tell Isara's gonna be on the receiving end of some of Rosie's wrath, though.
• So... how come it's snowing where Welkin and Alicia are, but it's practically summer where the rest of the Sevens are? Weird climate?

I'm rooting for both sides of the war... or maybe just certain fractions. Selvaria is hot or just plain awesome. Really like her character and hope they don't give her the short end of the stick. Selvaria and Max. are a good combo..... need a little more opening up on the emotional side and they would be awesome! OH, I didn't like the new guy. Guess it's just those types of character that are a no no for me.

Great episode for Selvaria material. Nice to get more attention on the Imperials (it seemed long over due).

If people call character development filler, then why even bother with this show? Filler means having nothing to do with the actually plot of the story, that was not this episode.

Wow that was an excellent Valkyria episode. My opinion of Selvaria has changed completely. It's a shame that her side is probably not going to beat Alicia's side, since Alicia is the main protagonist after all.

It's a great idea to expand on this universe using the anime. Good exposition of good characters is always awesome.

Needs more of the Valkyria sound effect though. And someone slacked off there with Selvaria's hair...big time.

Not every Emperor has to be voiced by Wakamoto. He's only voiced a handful over the many years.

Very true. It's how close Max's character is to Lelouch which actually causes the disappointment. If Max somehow convinces Faldio to join the Empire (e.g. by promising access to more knowledge on the Valkyria), it would be another shoutout to CG.

So dear o' Max have problems of his own from the looks of this episode but unfortunately, that was all overshadowed by Selvaria's sheer BEAUTY!

And excuse me for going fanboy mode but:

Plus it seems like she has a TRAGIC past...damn time to break out the tissues when the sob story comes around.

well I'd say that was a pretty sweet ep simply cause of all the Selvaria we get

apart from that not too much to say really, all of it is just very good.

ahh gotta wonder if working for Selvaria is a blessing or a curse at first, I mean she almost chopped down the poor lad

I think even though they call him Karl which is what the DLC character Johann was called in the Japanese version, the last name is a bit different?

It's one of the Emperor's Son's underling that planned the attack, but he was told about it.

The giant tank battle is gone, the next episode is probably where Alicia/Welkin got seperate from the squad in the game
