I can't help but imagine that Metatron and White Cosmos share a connection that goes deeper than the latter obtaining the Luminary from the former...

I mean, let's take a hint from Administrator. She's a naked goddess of the world, does whatever she likes and has the willpower and confidence to accomplish anything she wants.

Metatron has been appearing with steadily less clothing ever since she was revealed in V14. From her demonic first form, to her angelic second form on the cover of V15 (I might be wrong, but it's a cover of her and Crow behind) and then her barely-clothed appearance on the cover of End and Beginning. And now this preview for V17.

There is no logical basis, I acknowledge. But if White Cosmos is capable of pulling a soul from the Main Visualiser and implanting it into a duel avatar, as was the case for Wolfram Cerberus and ISS Kit Main body, what obstacles could there be possibly to prevent her from putting one in?

It smacks of a bodyswap with the real Metatron having been killed off and White Cosmos taking her place. It's like a bad mystery story.

...GGO wasn't a good mystery story either....

Tusjecht you're thinking too much about this.just because Metatron has less clothing ever since she her second form got revealed doesn't hint a deeper connection with Cosmos just because she draws parallels to Administrator.

it's impossible for Cosmos to take Metatron's place since if she kills her,Metatron's body would disappear upon her death and thus no window of opportunity for her putting her own Fluctlight in(if she can even do that).and even if her body doesn't disappear and she successfully took Metatron's place it doesn't make sense given that Haru and Metatron shared their memories with each other in V16,if Cosmos did take Metatron's place that would be stupid of her since that would give her identity away.
Also on the Cosmos-Administrator paralells while it is true there is many similarities between the both of them,the only thing they have in common with their personalities so far,is their confidence(Cosmos offering to take on NN+Prominence and Ash Roller by herself in Battle Royale mode while she is in a Dummy Avatar and Administrator doesn't have to be said).unlike Administrator,Cosmos doesn't seem to be interested in recruiting Haru despite him being responsible for the defeat and almost succesful dismantlement of her hope(DisasterMK2).

It doesn't really matter. Like I said, there is no logical basis and White Cosmos definitely could come up with other ways to infiltrate NN.

That being said, it would seem that the main girl has shifted from KYH to Metatron istead, given how prominently she's featuring in each volume now...

We have to agree that there will be a character introduced that Cosmos didn't see coming and will constantly irritate her and the ARS. Cosmos is NOT invincible (we definite agree on that). There things that she may not know off that slow cause her to go crashing down.

That blind BL would be a perfect adversary for her. Though I don't know what kind of person this BL would be that could shake her in her boots both in AW and in RL and also won't even make an attack (both AW and RL).

Anyway talking about Cosmos's worthy adversary, it is DEFINTELY not Kuroyukihime (at least not yet). To outsmart Cosmos, one much manipulate information and communications, keep a solid cover in both RL and AW, not get caught, equally as smart as Cosmos in both worlds and doesn't have to lift a finger to make an offense.

I've been curious about their stats, and about their rank in power.

By that I meant which is the strongest and weakest among them.

Who knows,there's probably no such thing as the strongest or weakest Arc(at least when it comes to the first six Arcs,Arc no 7 the TFL can't really known due to scarce information on what it actually does) because even though some of the Arcs looks weaker in comparison to others they have higher stats or abillites that make up in their inferiority to others(Example:while the Destiny is indeed stronger than the Strife in terms in defense it doesn't have The Strife's Double Payback abillity(returns Damage received X2)which makes up in the gap in it's inferiority towards The Destiny).This is just my opinion on the Arcs though,don't take it seriously.

Your rather persistent with that idea, however new character means new story so I would be happy to see its LN continue. But access to LNs of AW is very hard considering the fact that it has few translated volumes.

16 volumes in Japan so far, a 17th is due mid October.
Volumes 1-5 and 8 translated by fans into English.
1 volume out official translated into English.

I don't know how other fan translations, or official translations stand, though to my knowledge Chinese translations for both are fairly complete.

Chinese trans speed: both tieba fans trans and LK fans trans released latest volume. Simplified Chinese official trans released AW 14 but the publisher is affected by Chinese government's whatever campaign thus their release speed from now on would be slow down a lot and seem like a number of series would be discontinued. And the traditional chinese official translation is releasing vol.15 by october. (figures above are all from my memory so chance are there some mistake in number
Note that there are also Korean and Thai official translation for the novel.

If I may just randomly rant that Volume 9 Chapter 1 moves so darn slow -.-

It opens on page 11, covering a time span of perhaps thirty seconds in the next five pages. Then it stops for a recap for another two pages, picking up again on page 19. They talk. Exchange a dark shot and flash blink with a whole lotta internal monologue in between, and finally Haru goes around beating the $hit out of them from page 21 onwards.

It's not like I'm used to Kawahara's writing, but seeing his writing go all over the place makes me feel like skipping pages here and there.

Why is it similar to volume 16 though? Doesn't seem like a fake one as Dengeki always releases the real covers one month before. All other releases next month like NT11 has the proper cover already. Any thoughts?

You speak as though you are the author. If you would like to see White Cosmos antithesis, Graphite Edge's backstory, blind Burst Linkers, and light-bending avatars that much, it belongs in Fanfiction.
