Here you go. I don't really like the way the characters look in the manga...Ryner looks pretty stupid imo.

Well yeah he was being tortured but I don't think that would have made him start choking fellow students...

Now why couldn't they have started with this episode?
I mean, many shows have tried the "Show all kinds of stuff randomly on episode 1 and then start at the beginning on episode 2" trick, but I hardly found any of them interesting. Instead, it has mostly just scared people off for being so confusing or poor.

But this episode was good. And the end most certainly left me wanting more.

Very "old-fashioned" stuff, but good in that meaning.
Though dang... All of those characters in the group going "We won't die. We should just follow this guy and everything will work out" sure have death flags everywhere...

that my sir is the underlying plotline that connects oh so many things. to explain it would simply spoil way to much of the story. besides its so long i wouldn't even know where to start.
considering that it took a sequel(densetsu no yussha is a prequel ,if you did your research) to reveal the shocking truth behind ryner's eye, and the truth is quite shocking to be honest.

wow, this is exactly how I was hoping this anime would turn out. Loved this episode. If they can keep episodes like this one coming, this thing surely will become my favourite of the season.

Yea, think they should have started with ep 2 also, much better introduction than first.
preview from ep 1 showed the what I guess was the end of a battle but we never got that in ep2 which put me off, all the more reason to have started with ep 2.
def some death flags about, thought that part came across a little too obvious.
Still very much enjoying this and looking forward to more.

The most obvious would be Keifer...maybe she would have made a deal with the so Ryner wouldn't be hurt or something? But since the tortured guy said the spy was one of Sion's friends, wouldn't it make more sense for it to be Roll 'cause he seems to know Sion very well?(Btw who names their son Roll?!) Or it could be that blue haired guy because his face looks suspicious to me. Or maybe I'm being paranoid.

Also, does anyone else not like Keifer? She's kind of annoying. Especially with her "OMG Ryner! Escape the academy! You could get easily killed!"

Yes, but she thinks that Ryner is weak and hopeless at combat. Who want to see her loved? one to die or get hurt. So thats little bit understandable.

And yep the spy could be eitherone of them too. Who knows.
