Well that was another solid. Nothing outstanding but still really good. If the anime continues like this I'm expecting great things for this season (though I'm still cautious given what the first season was like). Still I like this nice slow pacing and makes me really thinking whether it would be possible to stretch this arc into 24 episodes. Well will see hopefully next week once the action picks up. Still Kirito looking like a girl kind of even though he is still a male (I'm guessing many people assume long hair = girl). It was pretty funny how their first meeting Shino just assumed his a girl and he decided to act like one (I'm guessing hanging around your harem you'll pick up some of their ticks). Oh man I can't wait for her reaction once she finds out she's gonna to be pissed. But for now she thinks his a girl so she won't be another harem member right? Excellent explanations on the different type of guns. Found the whole english from the gambling game (forgot what it was called) pretty funny. In fact there was a lot more comedy then usual for Sword Art Online or maybe it was better directed? Might just be me. Still this season so far is miles better then the last season. Not only is this season taking it's time, it's also really interesting and a new character that I actually care about. Yes Kirito is still Kirito winning the gambling game (although he might have notice patterns from the person before) but hey at the very least he isn't good guns so he has weakness and is not a god (for now). I'm just hoping once Death Gun appears his actually a challenge towards Kirito and not pussy. Anyway really looking forward towards the next episode.

Slow ep, but at least it takes the time to outline the mechanics of GGO so we know what to expect later.

Also does a good showing of how Kirito is out of his element when it comes to gun talk and guns in general. Wish he made more of an effort to at least sound more feminine, but it's passable enough.

Props have to go to all the proper ENGLISH this episode, instead of Engrish as you'd expect. .

Ah, trademarks. Because you can't call it a "lightsaber" but you can use all of the same sound effects with the volume turned down.

Ah, the Japanese word that Sinon used to call the sword is "Kouken", which literally translates to "Light Sword" or "Light Saber". Well, I suppose it's ok as long she doesn't put it in English

i wonder if nobita play ggo, he is extremely talented in gun, defeating everybody in all doraemon movie. he might be rank#1

It's expensive and not too useful. It's not like everyone can bring a sword to a gun fight and expect to live through it.

Yeah, he's got good aim. Didn't need much DEX and AGI if he can hit a mob's weak point by talent alone. So with that, I think he would have been a STR player. Then

Well, they do also call it a "Laser Blade" (from the Space Sheriffs franchise) and "Beam Saber" (from Gundam). The LN does an unnamed ref to Star Wars, but obviously they had to tone it down here.

heh, i really liked this episode with how he trashed that dodging bullet challenge and then getting an energy sword. Then getting on that buggy.

Also, his appearance is rather good. I like it.

Kind of wish he told Sinon that he played SAO or ALO rather than "just a fantasy game" tho

The LN goes into more detail, but look again at the scene where Kirito is getting heckled by that player for his avatar. He initially mistakes Kirito for a woman, and then when Kirito clears up that he's a guy, the player just changes the stated model number for Kirito's avatar model, the M9000.

Basically, Kirito is just a male player with a very effeminate body. Note that Kirito expressed relief after touching his chest, showing that at least he didn't get breasts.

The shooting game scene reminded me of Back to the Future.
I think there's a few too many things that "no one ever does it" but Kirito picks it up fine.
Like even given the reasoning for the sword thing, for a game that's targetted at hardcores, it sounds like something at least a few people would be picking up on.

Same with the gun game...the reasoning on how Kirito beat it isn't that outlandish for a gun game.

And even driving a freaking buggy?

Laughed at Kirito doing a random sword show in the shop, and then trying to put away his sword like in SAO, lol. Would have felt embarrassed.

A good amount of balance to things right now. Obviously when it comes to dodging and sword use Kirito is on top, but he's not exactly used to the gun side of things. Going to take a while before he can really use that efficiently in combat.

Do wonder when Sinon will find out the truth, but for now I suppose it'll be fine. Might get a bit upset that he didn't clear things up out of the gate, but suppose I can understand why he didn't. With all the attention Kirito himself got with that trap avatar could imagine how Sinon's attitude might change if she thought he was a guy hitting on her.

A bit slow, but of course necessary to get Kirito up to speed there. Also kind of agree that it's hard to believe no one really beats the gun dodging game, uses light sabers, or can ride the buggies. If that was true they'd probably have patched them or outright removed them by now. Besides takes away the hope of seeing light saber battles in that case .

I could understand not mentioning SAO. Just saying that could lead discussions down a road he'd rather not go down. A bit surprised that he didn't feel willing to say ALO, but easier to leave things vague anyways.
