I just hope it's not a reboot.
I always wanted to know what would happen to the girl Gerret picked up at the end of the Thief 3 (with the exact same words he was told, when he got picked up by the Keeper he was trying to steal from when he was a street kid ) With a reboot they could simply forget about her and make thier own thing. But it seems he has his metal eye... so I'm hopeful!

Crap, why did this game have to have a plague too? Now ton of noobs will come and say Thief is stealing from Dishonored. Nevermind Dishonor even had a cameo scene from Thief I |

Yeah, I feared as much...
Got my hopes up from the sentence: Quote:
Well, as a fan of the Thief series I'm delighted of course... so please don't mess it up. >_< EDIT: On the other hand, a reboot dosen't necessarily mean that the previous story get's scraped... see Deus Ex for example. DE:HR was also labeled a reboot.

And for finding and making them run: If you use Steam, they are available there and most Steam games work on modern systems... and if you don't like Steam, they are also found on gog and the like.

I'd easily pay double full money for Thief 4 if it only used exactly the same engine as 1/2 and had the same kind of storytelling. Preferably even the same VAs.
So yea, definitely play 1/2 before moving on. 3 wasn't completely bad, but not in the same league as 1/2. |

I would like to have a newer engine, but I am with you for the storytelling. VA maybe, I think that is do able. The cut scenes were awesome. 3 is good, just the lack of a sword and the 3rd person buggyness is what lets it down.

The game director tries to clearify thw whole "mainstream" thing.

Well, I'm pretty much in wait-and-see mode now. They can make a good game out of it that keeps somewhat true to the original, or they can totally botch it.
