a movie?
and you are animating it?

well....start out the way everyone does
brainstorm
dump the bad ideas, keep the good, expand on them
once you find something cool, stick with it, write out an outline, storyboard it, etc, etc

The hardest thing to do usually seems like the easiest..

Try to animate a character walking down a street..
Nothing fancy, just a side view of the character walking.
Maybe even a background if you feel like being artistic.
Trust me, it's harder than it seems. -.-

Oh.. Don't cheap out and use a stickman for the character.
A clothed character works best.

Hand draw the frames -> Scan them -> Clean & color them in Photoshop -> Put them together in Flash or Premiere

I try. nice and simple. you can have it all in B&W and at the end. you get a spatter effect in red on the screen... what class is this for?

Video And FilmMaking.. Um i would think that the black and white would be okay, because i personaly believe that it would add a cool feel. But i would also like to have some color involded.

Everything in B&W except for the blood at the end like hobo said. That would look freaking sweet. Be sure to post your finished project for us when its completed by the way.

I would go with something more personal...a student worked to death by his professor and his own noble, try hard nature...more and more work piled on...finally he snaps, instinctively attacking the source of his endless assignments...then you can go with the blood thing. ^^

Lots of times you can sneak out of difficult to animate scenes, like walking down the street just show the top halves or something. ^^ I'd say the toughest part is getting all the scenes worked out - so spend time story boarding where throwing out and adding scenes doesn't cost you much (whereas if you do all the work to animate something early you're really going to want to keep it even if it doesn't fit in well, heh). Of course if you have a class on this stuff you probably know more than me already. ^^
