its about a girl and a giant robot. they are found in the forest by the military and then are captured to use against other giant robots from space who are converging onto a single point which is their home

I was lurking around this forum at first but then I found this thread...

This is an anime I've seen a long time ago,Like, 8-10 years ago It involves a crew of people traveling and exploring though different part of space. (Think star-trek/star war)

Needless to say this is sci-fi, but here's the important part I like... It has light-sabers. (Or at least they look like light-sabers)

I don't know if this would help. But the main character also seems to be pretty op from the start. But if I recall the MC has lost against that said rival, and I recall pretty clearly that he suffered from PTSD from the loss. If I recall, the structures for the show is character driven. But then again, I watched this show 8-10 years ago and my perspective was much different back then.

The show was available in Chinese dub, that is how I watched it. If that also helps.

I'm looking out for an anime. The story is that there is a boy that is kinda a looser in everything. He fails in everything he tries. So he has two possibilities to stand up and go further or to give up. A remember a youtube describing this. He said the moral is that everyone can reach smth if he tries hard enough. Yup. That's Yuuouji Ouka from Noucome.

She's an airhead, her father is inventor of weird items she brought to class, and that's typical of her character (happy-go-lucky airhead) not an out-of-character moment.
