Ed Stark from GoT.
He was the guy you'd expect to find out the truth, bring justice and peace to the lands, defeat the cunning Lannisters and then either go home to his family or become the next king. All he became was a corpse due a child not honoring promises, wanting to see blood and humilition.

Same might happen here with Deku. This chapter ended with Deku being under the mind control, we as the readers expect the MC to obviously somehow break out of the mind control and win to advance to the next round. That's the shounen MC style. And it is what all readers, even me, expect to happen.
However, Shinsou's quirk, and personaliy which seems to detest hero students, is perfectly made for humilition. He could be the next King Joffrey. With his power he might be able to tell Deku to do lots of humiliating stuff which the teacher might not be able to prevent as it is not harming to Deku's health. This way Deku's defeat would weigh even heavier, and we readers would be even more shocked (and intrigued) as to Deku's already defeat and how it came to be, going against our own expections.

Not saying, that it will happen as it is very unshounen-like, but if it would happen all our expections would be thrown over board as with that move everything would seem possible again. Heck, even Uraraka could win against Bakugou with her special move for all we know while we expect him to be Deku's or Todoroki's final opponent. XD
Different type of story. GOT, I suspect, always focused on more than one person (I haven't actually read the books, since I suspect that I'd hate them as much as I hated reading Lord of the Rings). Sure, Ed Stark was the "Hero" of the story, but it was a purposeful denial of the Hero's Path.

Deku, meanwhile, is not the "Hero" of Boku no Hero, but the central character. The story focuses on him and him alone, while everyone else is pretty much a supporting character.

Brief Descriptions of everyone's Character Traits at the moment:
- All Might - Who Deku want's to become like. Supports by being a teacher and a goal.
- Bakugou - Rival (Agressive Type). Someone similar to Deku but pushes him forward by fighting with him.
- Iida - Rival (Friendly Type). A Friend who fights alongside Deku but also sees him as someone to overcome. Both end up pushing each other forward through competition.
- Torodoki - Rival (Neutral Type). Works as either a Friendly or Agressive Rival, depending on the situation. However, has a further emotional distance than either a Friendly or Agressive Rival would.
- Uraraka - Friend/Potential Interest. Basically a character who generally supports the main character.

At most I believe that if/when Deku loses, we'll get a montage of the other people fighting, one panel per fight.

Of course, that doesn't count the First Year, Second Year and Third Year Champions fighting/competing against each other. We'll see at least a little bit of that.

There's a translation for chapter 32, but it's done by a different group and is badly worded. Don't bother with it at all.

Huh, didn't notice that the (proper) translation was out for a while. Anyways, like I said in the spoilers, I don't see Deku losing in the first round. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Ojiro advised him on how to counter Shinsou's quirk (I don't see much reason for those two to hang out during the recreation time otherwise).

Adding onto that, what Deku did at the start of the match is uncharacteristic of him. Sure, he can get angry for his friends, but he's not the type to be bull-headed about it and rush in without thinking.

A trait that I've seen while rereading through this is that Deku isn't the brash type. Heck, the reason why he, Asui, and Mineta survived getting past the aquatic villains who had them surrounded is because he made a good strategy to get out of what looked like a hopeless situation.

Some people I've seen on other forums are speculating that he'll get through it typical shonen willpower (though I don't think Horikoshi will do that) or there will be a battle of the minds between Shinso and Deku.

I really think Deku went for his signature move, a feint. No, in all honesty, I really think that's it

Maybe so, but we'll have to wait until the two week break has finished before we get another chapter.

Plus, we're getting a color page with the next chapter. I guess we can owe it to the manga's rising popularity. It already has a vomic, too.

The thing about shinzou is that he is mostly skilled in provoking people, due to the requirements of his quirk. because his quirk requires his opponent to verbally respond, shinzou probably would have to become skilled at tricking his opponents into responding to him. at the start of the match, shinzou most likely planned to say those exact words that would provoke deku into at least responding back. also, this manga is on break this week??

you know what i'd really like to see? a plot twist where, due to some unusual circumstance, deku, todo, and kacchan will fight each other in the final round, or a 3 person match. low chance of that happening, but a guy can hope.

Alright, my bad. I thought the manga was on break this week, but I was wrong. Sorry, everybody.

Deku looks amazing in that page, though. It's amazing that we're not even 50 chapters in and the manga has risen in popularity already!
