Deku, meanwhile, is not the "Hero" of Boku no Hero, but the central character. The story focuses on him and him alone, while everyone else is pretty much a supporting character. Brief Descriptions of everyone's Character Traits at the moment: - All Might - Who Deku want's to become like. Supports by being a teacher and a goal. - Bakugou - Rival (Agressive Type). Someone similar to Deku but pushes him forward by fighting with him. - Iida - Rival (Friendly Type). A Friend who fights alongside Deku but also sees him as someone to overcome. Both end up pushing each other forward through competition. - Torodoki - Rival (Neutral Type). Works as either a Friendly or Agressive Rival, depending on the situation. However, has a further emotional distance than either a Friendly or Agressive Rival would. - Uraraka - Friend/Potential Interest. Basically a character who generally supports the main character. I see Deku suriving for a while as well. Because, honestly, I can't see us paying any attention to the tournament if he loses. No, I'm not talking about the readers, but what the story itself shows. At most I believe that if/when Deku loses, we'll get a montage of the other people fighting, one panel per fight. Of course, that doesn't count the First Year, Second Year and Third Year Champions fighting/competing against each other. We'll see at least a little bit of that. |

Huh, didn't notice that the (proper) translation was out for a while. Anyways, like I said in the spoilers, I don't see Deku losing in the first round. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Ojiro advised him on how to counter Shinsou's quirk (I don't see much reason for those two to hang out during the recreation time otherwise).

A trait that I've seen while rereading through this is that Deku isn't the brash type. Heck, the reason why he, Asui, and Mineta survived getting past the aquatic villains who had them surrounded is because he made a good strategy to get out of what looked like a hopeless situation. Some people I've seen on other forums are speculating that he'll get through it typical shonen willpower (though I don't think Horikoshi will do that) or there will be a battle of the minds between Shinso and Deku. |

Plus, we're getting a color page with the next chapter. I guess we can owe it to the manga's rising popularity. It already has a vomic, too. |

you know what i'd really like to see? a plot twist where, due to some unusual circumstance, deku, todo, and kacchan will fight each other in the final round, or a 3 person match. low chance of that happening, but a guy can hope.

Deku looks amazing in that page, though. It's amazing that we're not even 50 chapters in and the manga has risen in popularity already! |
