Never said the situation was perfect (and certainly not holding up Coke as any kind of model...), but I think that if we do want to be serious about aiding poorer countries we have to open are markets to them.
That said, I have to disagree about most of the savings going to the board of directors. Since clothes started being outsourced to China, clothing has never been cheaper. You can get 10 T Shirts for 10$, and 5 dress shirts for 15$. Now if you're going to go off and buy Adidas, you're still paying the same prices. But in that case you're really paying for the Adidas on your shoe, not the shoe itself... |

The plot thickens.
Afghanistan and India sign 'strategic partnership' Might throw this here as well. Self-immolation 'trend' at restive Tibetan monastery. I found it curious that all those tried to burn themselves are particularly young, this one is 17, the previous ones are 17 and 19 if memory serves. I am not sure whether this is the case with Tibetans, but in most of parts of China (and Korea, Taiwan, etc.) , people count the ages differently. For example, you are 1 years old the moment you are born, etc. So in reality, those people could be even younger in western standard. |

You know things are bleak when even The Simpsons is having financial issues.

Even if their pay is cut in half they're still earning a lot. How much are Japanese VAs payed in comparison? Not a lot I'd guess. The simpsons is a gravy train for those VAs. I doubt many of them would be able to get work at those rates from any other TV program. |

For anyone interested in hearing from the coordinators of Occupy Wall Street, COALITION TO OCCUPY FREEDOM PLAZA, and The Zeitgeist Movement, there is going to be a radio broadcast today at 4:00pm EDT. It should be quite interesting.

The question for the productor isn't if the show is still good but if it still do enough money. (For the record, I stopped to watch the Simson 7 or 8 years ago, so I don't know how the show is now.)

Also, like Anh_Minh says, I'd really prefer it if they just showed reruns of the old seasons anyways. Much better entertainment value, and still culturally relevant. |

I watched part of an episode of the The Simpsons while I was in Italy last summer. The Italian voice actors were quite well-chosen and do an excellent job of mimicking the voices of their American counterparts. It made me wonder whether this similarity held true in the rest of the world.
