From the looks of things, and based on the info from that Japanese blog I've gathered, next week should be the last manga-based episode before the filler starts. Then again, maybe not. But it'd sure as hell be a good spot to break from the story.

I thought it absolutely awesome that Noto Mamiko voiced Mavis. I love the VA, as she is one of my favorite, if not the favorite. She just brought so many levels of awesomeness to Mavis. She brought about a feeling of care, protection, and motherly comfort to the role.

I say it's a miracle the guild survived until the main cast got back. Macao deserves a medal for the guild having not shut down by now. You rip away every top mage or serious talent and no surprise how ugly it got. They may not say many positives about the 4th Master of Fairy Tail, but can at least say he kept it around long enough for their to be a 5th .
Good save by Mavis. It may have been all she could do, but if it wasn't for her actions they'd have all been killed. Yeah, not quite what I expected. Of course for some reason I never really liked Noto Mamiko's voice so can't say there is a role I'd prefer her in more anyways .

FT being reduced to that sorry state was so depressing, the guild had less people than a cafe...Droy saying Levy wouldn't be coming back, dayum...

I really liked this chapter, seeing how all the secondary characters interacted without the main cast present. I love seeing their characters developed some. I will again state that I kinda wished they had delved into the past seven years with some stories of the secondary characters doing stuff, before bringing back the main cast, but I can at least hope that the filler might deal with some flashbacks in that regard.
Nakama power (so often used in shonen series) actually has a real effect here, which is nice for a change. It does help explain a great many things. While I don't mind Levy getting promoted to the main cast, I'd like to see Jet and Droy join her. I'd like to see my Team Shadow Gear in action as equals. |

That's a seriously interesting thought you got there. It would also explain the fixation with Natsu he showed during this last arc.
Also: I'm now facepalming a bit for not realizing who the kid was earlier. It's so obvious once you first hear the name but up until that point Romeo didn't even register in my radar. Fairy Tail has so many characters that's just way too easy to inadvertently overlook someone.

Wow that little kid was Romeo,. that should have bee an easy guess, but totally forgot about him. Was so sad to see the guild in such a sorry state. Still i get that people would have left in the seven years. Though why aren't they still in the same building? At least they're all back and reunited.

Seven years after...
Guess the only one with any serious potential was the kid Romeo. The guild sure went downhill since there was no real leadership. It's incredible what a bunch of useless guys make the guild.. just sad. Well, at least Blue Pegasus hasn't changed one bit ^^" The mystery girl in the middle of the ocean who popped out the island was a nice surprise. I'm totally happy they're back!!! but they'll have their hands full dealing with everything that happened since they were gone.

I'm still a bit upset concerning how so many of the guild members left. They weren't truly loyal members, but seem to only be there for the fun of it. I commend the current members that have stayed through thick and thin. From the previews, it looks like the gang is going to retake the old guild building back.

Then I would not know what happened to the old guild. The current guild locations seems like it is in the middle of nowhere. The old guild was in the middle of the city. It could be possible that the old guild was destroyed, and Twilight Ogre built on top of it.

Well, I imagine that the people that left did so reluctantly. 7 years is a long time, and people need to earn money. By the looks of it, Fairy Tail simply wasn't bringing in the jobs needed to sustain its size after the Tenrou Island crew went missing.

I thought the guild had a sea view [ as in the sea was behind them ] O.O Since after the First Guild was destroyed during the Phantom Lord Arc the new building was built right over the old ones' ruins yea?
As for people leaving Fairy Tail over the 7 years. I guess its how you see it. Personally I'm too pessimistic a person so i can't really think the way Fenrir_valindri does, though its actually a good reason and valid point. However, if people like Bisca & Al who had started a new family were able to hold on for so long and those who actually did, i really dun know whats stopping the others from not being able to do so. Regarding skill levels, 'm pretty sure the few who are left in the guild can't be too far off in terms of skills compared to those who left. If they were that strong they'd have been among the Tenroujima group. The reason why they were left behind were because they were weak, to be blunt. Just like the others. Of course .. if you really want to put it. Random People in the guild > Ppl left behind for 7 years > Natsu & Gang > S-Class people > Masters With 100 people you can get more jobs done than 10. The way i see it these people are more or less just riding on the fame of Fairy Tail and decided to leave when it seems set that the main members aren't gonna come back. Well if its me I'd say GOOD RIDDANCE. Fairy Tail's all about unity and stuff so if your just here for the fun and fame than GTFO.

It's all well and good to say that, but.... people need to eat. Obviously, a guild takes some percentage of the cut but provides meals. I gather part of what put FT in debt, is that their members weren't earning enough money to pay for things like booze and food. Principles are one thing, but see how quickly those go out the window when you're starving.
And in answer to the question of whether the TO guild is in the same place as the old FT guild, you should be able to see that they are not. The old FT guild had the ocean behind it, but the TO guild has buildings behind it. |

In the end could be a combination of both. First you had the people there for the parties and fun who left when it clearly wasn't going to be like that anymore followed by those who simply had to go. What percentage falls into each category is hard to say.
The real tragedy is that they probably lost the dorms and all the stuff in Erza's room(s) might have been stolen . Same for Lucy's place I suppose.

Nobody wants to work in a place where everyone is depressed.
There main core stayed because of their love for Fairy Tail, but the "extras" left because they couldn't stand the gloom and depressed aura. That's my opinion, anyway. I think it's less about finances and more about working environment. Also, who knows what actually happened. There could have been a split when Macao took over as new Master, and a bunch of the other people left because they didn't approve, for example...
