Yeah I think I went a bit overboard with her unique skills. I'll focus more on her Caster class skills, as well as the Velka techniques she knows another time.

She doesn't act like she's blind doesn't she? That's because in battle she isn't totally blind, just restricted vision with that Nobl-- I mean, Cyber Scan Unit that keeps her unsealed eyes in augment reality. I think I also forgot to mention like other Knight-sisters she has earned the right to mount a robot pegasus which she christened Bell-- *shot by another sword*

Not quite. Since Sofia the Device is obviously not a true Necron creation, it wouldn't really have Gauss Flayers installed in it (although my initial concept for Sofia did have it)

I was referring more to the minor detail of the sigil: The sign is supposed to have an inverted semicircular arch at the top of the ring, and not a straight bar.

With all this talk about Sofia, I wonder how a meeting with Sofia the Device and your Sofia would play out

This can be argued, as the real name of the Necron is Necrontyr (technically, they're a race even older then the Eldar) But the TSAB calls the Necron ctulu? Or simply the Necron lord the ctulu?

One of our more harrowing experiences with Glock happened about four months ago, during my prolonged expedition to the 198th Non-Administered World, Megiddo. This was a fringe desert world, on the outer edges of Bureau controlled territory, ravaged by freak weather conditions and a barely hospitable atmosphere. I had heard reports of Alhazredi ruins and technology being discovered there by a team from the Limieran Archaeological Institute. Upon arrival we were greeted by a Dr. Altis Macabee, who led us to the sites in question. We were treated to four immense stone obelisks, surrounding the corners of what appeared to be a very short and shallow pyramid, which were made up of a black marble-like material. I did not recognize the architecture of the structures immediately, until Dr. Macabee showed me the silver glyphs engraved on the side of the obelisks. These glyphs, made up of interconnected geometrically aligned circles, semicircles and lines struck a memory; a journal written by Yuuno described these very same glyphs in a black crystal Lost Logia referenced in an entry in the Infinite Library, believing it to have originated from Alhazred. With much excitement I cooperated with the search party on finding out more about this ancient structure, and what secrets it may have held that may hold the key to the legend of the Lost World.

During this entire time, I should’ve noticed that Glock, who was normally apathetic about these types of expeditions, became increasingly agitated and nervous whenever we moved deeper into the site, to the point of completely refusing to come with me during our digs. It was already strange that he had stubbornly stuck by my side to keep watch over my activities in my previous digs, no matter how perilous and dangerous the sites looked, and yet now he was letting me roam free. I asked him about it, and he said that the place spooked him out. Alarm bells rang, because despite only knowing him for 5 months that time, I’ve known that Glock was NEVER spooked out by anything. The planet was definitely nasty, but the inside of the pyramid itself was quite sterile in design. I couldn’t place his reasons for his apparent nervousness, and when I asked him he refused to tell me anything further.

Of all the items and artifacts we were able to recover in that expedition, the most peculiar was a black hexagonal stone tablet, with a green cross sigil engraved on it. This particular sigil was engraved in many of the artifacts, but only in this artifact did it glow in a dull green, eerie light. Whether this was an indication that it was active, or simply normal for this artifact would never be known. We initially determined that it was a crystalline-based circuit of some kind, whose function was akin to that of a storage medium for various types of information. I had kept it in my temporary quarters for safekeeping, never knowing the curse it’ll bestow on us.

It was a minor action that in all cases shouldn’t even warrant a mention: Glock laid his Device Sofia on a table, and had left it there for a few minutes. Upon returning Sofia had completely changed in form into a menacing staff spear, with the same green alien sigil now adorning its head, glowing brightly.

Asuka: I can remember him asking where his device was. Hell, he even blamed you for hiding Sofia again.
Kay: *grins* I can remember that quite vividly. It was fun watching the hysterical look on his face, REALLY made that day worthwhile.

Self repair is a passive thing for Necron, actually. Though if the soul inhabiting the body was 'killed' then the body is no more then a metal cascet. No powersource, no repair.

I did mention that I based the Saint Alexei Convent on the Adeptas Sororitias yep? With Sophia rebuilding the Convent, Kha being involved with training the next batch of Gre- I mean, Cleric-knights (Klerikeitter) of the Light of Velka and Carim, together with the Circle of the Church, lobbying the Galactic Defence Initiative for the Velka SAR to have its own Imp- uh Regional Guard of Wolkenritter, all they need now is someone to dig up the germ-seed that founded the Raumritter of the fallen Holy Velka Imperiallon...

But we still need one more person to round it off nicely... Her Holy Highness, Ultra-Commander of a Thousand Ships, the Supreme-Word of Truth and Order, the God-Empress of Velka, S******* H*****!

I forgot about that... still, a Necron that's been "shut down" should have a very small chance of coming back to life, unless external forces reactivate it again.

Begs the question of why I've never seen anyone kill a Necron simply by destroying its soul...

They do, it was actually one of the C'tan that did it. The deceiver. He promised the Necrontyr eternal life and power to defeat their enemies, you know, the usual. And of course the Necrontyr were stupid enough to accept to the process and their souls were transferred into bodies made of living metal. However, the transformation dulled their minds and senses. As such they became the Necrons, warrior-slaves of the C'tan, harvesting life across the galaxy for souls to feed them.

It took Glock some time to accept that this alien staff was Sofia; he had used his mind-link with the storage device to truly confirm its identity, along with the standard voice challenge. It was also some time before we realized that the tablet was gone from its safe hiding place. An energy signature scan confirmed what I had initially suspected: that somehow, the tablet had teleported and integrated itself into Sofia, completely changing its external appearance without changing the AI. And with all of our recent discoveries of what appeared to be a tomb chamber in the heart of the site, I thought that our day couldn’t possibly get any better.

I had heard of this mission, since it destroyed the Kruschev family’s fortunes, and I had been using them for financial assistance at the time. I had also heard that Lord Kruschev had set up an ill-planned ambush inside his underground warehouse and headquarters, which resulted in a firefight that ended up killing him along with most of his men and the TSAB officers. And I had also heard that there was only one survivor in that incident, who went missing for several weeks before he was found nearly dead several kilometers from the scene.

There was an ambush, and there was a shootout. And that officer did go MIA. But the devil was in the details.

Said officer’s name was Private Glock Heckler, who had been a major factor in the initial success of the operation. With a squad made up of powerful AA rank mages, the mission’s success was all but assured. Cornered and without a way out, Lord Kruschev revealed his hand, and unleashed his trap on the unsuspecting officers.

It happened so quickly that there was no time to react. Officer after officer fell to the power of Kruschev’s skeleton like automatons, their green energy beams literally flaying and skinning the squad to their bones, their exoskeletons shrugging off the officer’s best attacks. But these machines did not take orders from anyone. They tore apart all who were inside, TSAB and criminals alike, sparing no life that stood against them, staining the place with the blood of their victims. The remaining officers who managed to defeat the first wave of automatons thought themselves safe, before their relief turned to astonishment and horror as the broken pieces of the automatons they had thought dead reassembled themselves and continued their indiscriminate murderous rampage. Trapped inside the labyrinth of heavily fortified walls and ceilings, and with the machines closing in on all sides they fought till the last man, and in the end only one was left. And his only option was to use his most powerful buster spell to bury himself and take down the unstoppable monstrosities with him. As he charged his spell he saw the caped visage of a dark skeleton, and stared down its demonic gaze before he sent the entire world crashing down on him. And he thought it was the end.

But they would not let it end so soon. They would not forget the insult of him defying death. They would make him fear death; they would make him death itself. And for days the young officer slipped between darkness and light, and when he awoke the horror he felt could not be described.

They do, it was actually one of the C'tan that did it. The deceiver. He promised the Necrontyr eternal life and power to defeat their enemies, you know, the usual. And of course the Necrontyr were stupid enough to accept to the process and their souls were transferred into bodies made of living metal. However, the transformation dulled their minds and senses. As such they became the Necrons, warrior-slaves of the C'tan, harvesting life across the galaxy for souls to feed them.

I won't so much that the Raumritter suddenly make a comeback. Give time for the Regional Guard to grow.

This time, Kha came via the front door. Kaempfer as the cloth swabbed mechanoid in a fireman's lift over his shoulder marched alongside his meister as Artei and Sophia keep up behind them. Allie, having parked the smoking wreck of a Carryall on the front lawn, much to the chagrin of the landscapers, jogs up, hugging onto her pack in case more of those machines suddenly teleport in and grab it.

Carim swings her double doors open and usher them in. She immediate hugs them once the doors were shut.

Car: Oh I'm so relieved! The wires from 178th declared that an explosion had leveled the Church and I prayed hard that you all are okay. I'm very sorry for--

Kaempfer drops the machine on to the floor audibly, cutting her off.

Kha: Kaempfer, no need for that. (turns back to Carim) We appreciate you concern, my Meister, but it is ill-founded. We've returned in one piece, haven't we? No need to apologize when what we do is for the Church.
Car: (nods mutely) What have you managed to find?
Kha: Nothing concrete. *hands over the books* The diaries we've retrieved indicate that the head Confessor working hard to recruit individuals for the greater good of the Light, but really sounds weird, for the books also mention a "Monolith" where the Confessor leads a flock of new converts to.
Car: And what is that?

Kaempfer unveils the catch, and Carim gasps.

Car: In the name of Harmonium what is this monstrosity?!
Kha: This and several of its counterparts assaulted our operations as we were concluding the mission. They seem to possess an unprecedented recovery rate unless they've been completely melted down by Kaempfer's fire or by exorcising the spirit within these machines.
Car: I heard of no machines. Just a very bad leyline explosion...
Kha: They must have phased out. That's another of their abilities.
Carim: (nods in thought) Okay I see, so far whatever these things we know next to nothing about them. I'm only guessing that they have something to do with the Monolith, if that's what they've been trying to prevent you from reporting. Kha, sorry to bother you again, but can you analyze this monster and see what makes it tick? If we could develope a way to stop these things from regenerating or by quickly excising the evil within, the Church should be able to suppress it without much issue. The TSAB and the public must not know of this.
Kha: I understand the public but why the TSAB?
Car: Knowing Hayate...
Kha: ...she'd send her forces out there in an instant.
Car: Or worse split themselves in two and put themselves in greater danger on two fronts. I can't risk that...

Allison: Promise you won't tell anyone I told you this?
Cass: Depending on what it is Alex might have to know.
Allison: Erm... Okay... It's like this...

Meanwhile...

Carim paced about the still-empty boardroom, fretting. Her assistant wasn't about to arrive soon, but she had this feeling of unease. Something was missing...

Oh, and one teeeeny tiny detail. Keroko already knows Carim, in fact she has been doing jobs for the order every once in a while. Her job in the TSAB doesn't allow her to work full-time, but she has expressed interest in joining the order as a knight (I need to finish the StrikerS part of Keroko's bio, that would help to avoid confusion. Almost weekend.).

oddly enough, the whole Necrons as evolutions of the Gadget drones concept taken to the most pextreme logical possibility is alarming. More, I see that it seems to be a common enemy against whom even the most overpowered of our submitted characters can have their time in the sun without undue disruption...

As in....

As the crackling arcs of luorescent green not-energy seethed at bay behind the shivering, quivering wall of a barely sustained barrier field, The Mages shivered as a voice echoed in their psyches, promising only terror...

then another voice echoed in their pysches. It was the control commander, with a warning. " standby. Support is already en route to your location. Command has authorised deployment of mobile unit 13 to the location. Once it arrives, be prepared to evacuate as soon as you get an opening..."

With a flash, Mobile unit 13 materialised almost as soon as the message ended. Stood in the midst of the silverskeletons, the newcomer glanced around, watching the sudden barrage of emerald not-light fade momentarily as confusion wracked the host of metallic rictus faces.

Then it resumed, in the form of a glowing lash of jade vicousness that struck into the newcomer's arm, stripping away the outer armour, biting into the flesh beneath...

that simply relaced itself as fast as the stream could rip it clear. across the strangers frame, an odd stalemate was struck as molecule-wrenching forces battled lightning fast replenishment.

but only for a moment. As soon as the danger was noticed, a hand was raised, palm outstretched.

"Protect Shade!"

Waves rippled the air as invisible dark energy spun a web of unseeable protection, and the beams of eerie green hue were cast back to their casters, who hissed as the streams stripped their own metallic hides just as well as the flesh of their supposed prey.

" so, you use atomic disintegration as a weapon? two can play at that game." replied the newcomer's voice, calm and seemingly unconcerened, seemingly more machine-like even than the oncoming hordes of steely skeletons and their staff-wielding master

" let's see how you like it! Bronzion Hammer! Deploy!"

with a flash that echoed the removal of it's safety locks, the massive heavy hafted doubled faced mallet appeared in his hand, casting strange shadows in it's bronzy coloured light.

" Now, you ugly bastards, Hikari Ni Nare!"

Leaping forward, swinging the massive hammer, with it's point source singlularity fed generator and neutronium lenses like it was no more than a childs toy, the stranger smashed one of the skeletal stalkers with the massive hammer full on. The Hammer flared into sudden glowing brilliance, and the stubborn silvery structure of the unknown invader flashed instantly into motes of flickering light, reduced immediately and inexorably into mere photons.

" but why?" a voice challenged, in a tone colder than absolute zero. " you are more like us than them...you are more like us than even we...you are all we could hope to have been, all we desired...and still desire...."

The hammer wielding warrior halted, as the voice wheedled in it's spidery metallic whisper...

" to us...you are an icon of what could be...among us...you would belong...not a prisoner or a guinea pig or a curiosty. Not a leftover or an unwanted weapon. Long story short: Lowegear used a Necron cameo. Kha's inspiration took hold, Lowe decided to ad his 2 cents and I decided to use the oportunity as well. Things spiraled of from there.

Car: Oh I'm so relieved! The wires from 178th declared that an explosion had leveled the Church and I prayed hard that you all are okay. I'm very sorry for--

Kaempfer drops the machine on to the floor audibly, cutting her off.

Kha: Kaempfer, no need for that. (turns back to Carim) We appreciate you concern, my Meister, but it is ill-founded. We've returned in one piece, haven't we? No need to apologize when what we do is for the Church.
Car: (nods mutely) What have you managed to find?
Kha: Nothing concrete. *hands over the books* The diaries we've retrieved indicate that the head Confessor working hard to recruit individuals for the greater good of the Light, but really sounds weird, for the books also mention a "Monolith" where the Confessor leads a flock of new converts to.
Car: And what is that?

Kaempfer unveils the catch, and Carim gasps.

Car: In the name of Harmonium what is this monstrosity?!
Kha: This and several of its counterparts assaulted our operations as we were concluding the mission. They seem to possess an unprecedented recovery rate unless they've been completely melted down by Kaempfer's fire or by exorcising the spirit within these machines.
Car: I heard of no machines. Just a very bad leyline explosion...
Kha: They must have phased out. That's another of their abilities.
Carim: (nods in thought) Okay I see, so far whatever these things we know next to nothing about them. I'm only guessing that they have something to do with the Monolith, if that's what they've been trying to prevent you from reporting. Kha, sorry to bother you again, but can you analyze this monster and see what makes it tick? If we could develope a way to stop these things from regenerating or by quickly excising the evil within, the Church should be able to suppress it without much issue. The TSAB and the public must not know of this.
Kha: I understand the public but why the TSAB?
Car: Knowing Hayate...
Kha: ...she'd send her forces out there in an instant.
Car: Or worse split themselves in two and put themselves in greater danger on two fronts. I can't risk that...
Kha: I understand. Do you have a facility we could use?
Car: I'm afraid not. None of the research labs have been scheduled for use, so if one is suddenly requested it'll be very obvious.

Sof: Miss Carim?
Car: Yes, good Sister?
Sof: I think we can ask Aurion.
Kha: Sempai? I thought he was out of the country?
Sof: He's probably gone back to his home just out of town for a rest break and cola before he drags himself on that trip to nowhere. He's got a stocked workshop there he might be able to help.

Kha: So it's settled then. Sophia, locate Aurion. Kaempfer, you take a buggy and head for Aurion's place. Once we find him, we'll explain then. I'll catch up with you all once I'm done.

Car: The one they call the Black Dragon. I've heard of her. Yes I think she'll be helpful. But I don't wish to--

A hour later, the Trinity has sifted through all the security videos, data feeds and transmission transcripts coming from that Church. Then, in a general database search, Artei stumbles upon a Device entry.

Art: Hey whaddaya know? Sofia's involved in this after all.
Sof: I AM NOT!
Art: Whoa there, hot shot. I never said it was you. Unless you're uh... guilty?
Sof: (Vericose vein) You...
Kha: What have you?
Art: This Boss (flips the hovering display around. It is the picture of a device with a familiar looking cross) Remember this thing on the wall?
Kha: Hmm... It is similar, but there's a small difference. Glock Heckler...?
Art: One of the latest entries here says that he's encountered 'skeletal machines' before and somewhat got out of it alive. Interestingly, he also encountered "flayer" type skulls as well.

Yuuno: Oh you mean Kaylin? She's not in at the moment. Some officer is profiling her at the moment.

wow thats all i can say is wow. This story is getting intense.

I see the mention of a Cassandra and a Cass. are they 2 different people or same person? and the Alex mentioned would that happen to be the Alex that I posted or another one.

Sorry for asking possibly obvious questions. I must confess that I have lost track of all of the names of everyones characters and their devices... sorry

Edit: If someone could be kind enough to list them for me that would be greatly appreciated. Or maybe if each person would list their creations names and devices that would work as well thanks and sorry for asking so much
