I have just one thing to say about episode 6 at the moment:

HE BEEN SPARED.

People who watch the episode will know what I mean.

It always amaze me how Break Blade (manga in particular) can easily introduce characters that seem really important only to slaughter them few chapters later. The bitchy Athen pilot, General Tool and Girge are just the beginning. There are others in the manga but I won't spoil it to you who only watch the anime.

The cruelty of this manga/anime to its characters is kinda close to GANTZ or Battle Royal (though not as graphic). Still, I can't wait for the next victim. Zess would be sweet.

Just finished watching that last Blu Ray/DVD release of the Break Blade movie series. I enjoyed the anime original material and did not mind the deviation of that occurred from the last film that lead to the story for this one. Some gripes that I would like to express was on the ending and on the character development on Narvi. Other than that, I would purchase this series if it was ever released state side.

The final movie seems like it is just scratching the surface of the series, with one battle over.

For the character profile, when you place your mouse on the profile image on the movie site, it says her name is Gureta. I do not know her VA though.

Not a manga reader so on its own the last OVA was pretty good imo.
If i am disappointed about something it would be Rygart's new weapon. An oversized shuriken thingie.....really?

I thought it was an interesting way of using that weapon. It was simplistic technology wise and in nature, though it's use prove to be very deadly.

As for you question, something similar does appear though I would strongly suggest that you read that chapter when the weapon come out and is used.

The way Rygart/Delphine handled that boomerang shuriken, I seriously thought he was going to hit himself long before hitting Borcuse. That weapon is way too dangerous

I don't know how much they deviated from the manga, but they definitely left things open for a sequel. In a few years, maybe. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more. The setting was very interesting and the battles exciting. The characters weren't exactly memorable (I think the one I'll remember the best will be Cleo, 12 year olds with that kind of body aren't very common

), but they were more than good enough.

And yes, that's it. The battle isn't over yet but there's NO plan for sequel to me whatsoever where Rygart will meet Zess once again.

True, but the final picture drama gives some closure to how Cleo ends up rescued by Zess. Other than that, unless something come up, the six film were pretty much what is going to be shown.

Really enjoyed the final fight between Rygart and Borcus since the General had Rygart work for his win.

The drama starts with Cleo escaping the country in a stolen golem but breaks down in the desert area. It then cuts to Zess and his subordinate riding across the desert land looking for her. Both the start to retrospect on their life on what happened. For Cleo, it's Zess's fall at the hands of Rygart, her beating Rygart and then getting capture, and her time with Lee. For Zess, it's mostly about Rygart and some parts on his friendship with Hodr, Rygart, and Sigyn. The drama ends when Zess finally finds Cleo. The ending credits show scenes from the previouse five picture drama's.

This ep, I got a lot of disappointment if compared to manga version. The battle scene still awesome just like previous episode. But the downside, they must alter the story to make it end at episode 6.

Cleo is someone of high importance! Wow, that was a surprise, considering they put her in the advance scouting/frontline party. The subs called her a princess, but I am guessing that was the figurative meaning, not literal. I wonder if she is a noble, but it is still strange how her physique is of a full grown adult instead of a 12 year old. Regats, Rygart's brother, survived and has been traveling to the palace in search of his brother. At least that was a bright spot for Rygart through all these conflicts. *Colonel Io was spared and retreated. That was surprising, since the series tend to brutally kill off so many characters. I guess he was needed to lead the surviving enemy forces. Now, there are still some questions that remain. What is Athens going to do next? They still have another battalion of forces coming. What will Zess do when he finds out the "conditions" for surrender if Hodr accepted those terms? Will Zess continue to fight, join forces with Rygart, or go home to Athens and try to convince another way (which will probably lead to his execution). Was Cleo really genetically modified? What about the other nations around Krishna? They seem to have an interest in the fighting as well, but we have yet to see them. It was an enjoyable series to watch, and I wish more will come. __________________

I must say, despite having an anime original ending, i like it. The battle of Binoten was one of the best city battles i seen. All those Golems and the destruction that came was amazing to look at. While it ended with an original ending, it still kind of a nice ending compare to the manga. Spoiler for Manga plot: The manga version of that battle was almost the same, except Rygart was ordered to spare Borcuse so they can use him as a hostage. But Borcuse goads Rygart to kill him by revealing he knew Girghe lied to him of being the Delphine's pilot but still kill him anyway which an enraged Rygart brutally kills him and breaks down, realizing he has become a monster just like Girghe and Borcuse. Hopefully, there might be another anime adaption whether it be a new movie or an anime series. To answer thundrakkon's question about Cleo... Spoiler for From the manga: Cleo's family has been serving the Athens military for 3 generations; her grandmother is an ex-ace Golem pilot and instructor and her mother is a high ranking officer in the Athen's army. With that kind of lineage, Cleo is kinda like a noble. PS: Can someone translate who's this character's name and VA? __________________

klare Senior Member Join Date: May 2009	Spoiler for eps 6: the mass mecha battle is intense and nicely animated i read the manga and i can accept an anime original route, but the problem is no plot at all, everyone just fight... so many questions unanswered and such an open ending also i dont understand why they even want make these 6 movies if they end it like this? overall the series has good animation, an excellent OP and i like the mecha fights, but due to its lack of story and plot, it is just another above average mecha show to me __________________
