First off: Yes, however you do it, Alt-Yuuki comforting Kyonko will become one of the greatest fangirl-moments of the year. Many shall swoon

Second, my opinion on how;

A moe-moe bishounen smile would be extremely effective, would it be a manga panel. However, in a novel, we fangirls can't actually see it, which might cause an opposite reaction (unless one of the pics for that chapters was that moe-moe smile... But I don't know if I have the skills to create something like that, taking that I've been the one to draw the pics for the B-T version

). Even so, it’s still a pretty good choice, just with some complications.

The hug with trembling hands, then. It will most likely induce drooling of some level. An extremely valid choice.

Giving her a book... May work, if done right. However, I'm not really the right person to say that, since I have no idea what that "right" means. Sorry...

All at once... Would work too. I don't think I need to explain

I'm thinking too much about Haruki's headband but what if he wore the yellow headband around his head (like a real headband) instead of on top of his head?
Maybe it might look weird and maybe I'm thinking too much.

That's why I prefer the headphones myself. They don't seem too awkward to me, not to mention they give a nice effect to the fact that Haruki rarely bothers to listen to what people say

Still, since it's not mentioned in the novels, it really is just a matter of preference. And I think that's pretty good, since there won't be any arguing that way.

That looks like it would work. A headband instead of a hairband. But I guess its just a matter of preference, just like what Puffendahl said. But maybe that could be Kyonko's fetish for Haruki...just like Kyon has a thing for Ponytails, Kyonko could have a thing for headbands.
