How'd I miss this? I loved this show, had every thing. Boy am I glad it got a second season, it'd be funny if they had him read a Yaoi manga seriesXD Looks like it will be starting soon, hurray!

A lot of Kamen Rider references as expected, some less expected (like the Men in Black one) but in general pretty good, at least for me. Looking forward the next episode.

Entertaining first episode of the second season begins with the usual Nyaruko's school life routine with her beloved partner Mahiro as well two other Eldritch Abominations named Kuuko and Hastur, this time revolves around their whining over a boys' love doujin as well their journey in a maid cafe. We then meet the beautiful violet-haired maid who's secretly a fujoshi, and I liked her looks though she doesn't have much role other than serving herself as a comedic "shock value". The humor is still over the top as season one, Mahiro's infamous fork beating over Nyaruko continues to circle, and I was surprised that during the time Nyaruko is trying to kiss Mahiro in the changing room, the undressing segment was pretty tame compared to other animes I've seen. The musical field proves to be even more exciting than the first, and it seems Nyaruko will start her booking quest in the next episode !

Nyarko W 01 - 50 Shades of G/Issue an Ultimatum

If Muromi is wacky comedy and Akibaranger S2 is toku reference central, than Nyarko stands at the direct center of those two, and in this paradise, I feel right at home. When they did the Wizard thing from the preview, that was so exciting. More than one Wizard reference, actually. Plus Fourze, and W, and Ryuki and AKB0048 and my god I love this show so much. The whole "pregnancy" discussion continues to be hilarious. Comedies can get away with that sort of thing, even if Nyarko will never become pregnant... but that it's teasing the idea makes the show feel that much better. Gender is no issue. And while lots of returning shows this season (see also: Samurai Bride) have to deal with the issue of reintroducing characters, Nyarko just flat out makes fun of it, shamelessly breaking the fourth wall in the process. The classroom intro scene being the most obvious instance. Couching the exposition in a game of Call of Cthulhu was delightfully meta.

But, about making Sasami references, sorry, Nyarko. Namika already beat you to it one season ago.

One last thing. I love that the April Fools' joke the show's website pulled wasn't just an April Fool. It was worked into the opening moments of the episode. That's the best kind of foreshadowing.

It's strange when you think about it, that a 1960s American sitcom was so popular in Japan that it's parodied in a 2013 anime opening. Isn't that right Durward?

So many references, so many parodies, I'm sure there's stuff I'm missing because I don't get the reference, but it's all good fun from beginning to end.

Dammit Mahiro, how dare you turn off the s1 opening! The new opening isn't as catchy, but it's a damn fine tune as well.

Eh well, the usual. To be honest, the episodes being purely references and parodies get old, so I can't really say the episode was that entertaining though.
ED isn't bad, but the OP... It's kind of like the song and visuals aren't at the same pace. The visuals are fine, but the OP isn't that catchy.

For some reason it reminds me of Kore wa Zombie and how most megalos seem to want to butt-love Ayumu.


EP1: The madness is back!! Because I've sat through twelve episodes of this already, it doesn't hit me as hard as it did the first season. Despite that, this is what fans of the series would love to see.
