Any one know of any programs I can use to make a 2D side scrolling shooter? I don't understand how to use Gamemaker and the 3D Game Maker is a piece of crap for any style game. Anyone know of any programs that work well and don't require manually written scripting?

Sorry but I have no idea of any program to help you. I've never been a believer nor advocate of the 'program to make your own game' idea. By the way isn't "Wishing to create" just a little too vague of a thread title for your request?

Theres a make your own game thread? Sorry didn't know. -_-' Anyways thanks for the tips I wanna make a bloody side scroller similar to Metal Slug but more serious.

Also lots of zombies and old soviet type firearms whoahahahahahaha Oh and whats the program that has had the best success with everyone? OH and also did I mention that the 3D Game Maker is a piece of crap?

Oh and personally I'm using SimpleDirect Media Layer for my game and so far its been great. Its very easy to learn, very efficient, and easy to cross-platform. The native language it uses is C, but it works with C++ and has bindings to several other languages like Java and Python. I recommend it to absolutely anyone thinking about writing their own game. Good luck

but but but im stupid when it comes to coding, to me coding is like being beaten in the head with a brick tied to a sheep, weird, confusing, and just wrong. -.-'
