Something light-hearted and funny? Or not-light-hearted but funny?

I recently started watching:
History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi
Code Geass
Erementar Gerad

What I've already seen/keeping up with:
One Piece
Bleach
Naruto
Busou Renkin
Dr. Grayman

The thing is, I don't really know when a new episode of Kenichi is supposed to be up, Code Geass is like on vacation until summer and I finished Erementar Gerad.

What I'm looking for, something like Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

I don't want something like Love Hina, where there's a guy and a girl but either the guy's too wussed out to do anything, or vice versa.

Also, most of the popular anime from at least 2005 or earlier, I've probably already seen. I'm thinking of something recent.

What I don't mind it having:
Action
Romance
Mystery
Mecha
Maybe sports
Weird plots (Kind of like Haruhi Suzumiya or Paranoia Agent)

The only real guideline is that it's at least 10+ episodes already in if it's still airing and that it doesn't have a wussed out guy that has a crush on a girl. I don't like the whole, "You'll see 26 episodes of this crap before they finally hug" kind of stories.

And the last guideline:
No bitter sweet endings! If the good guy dies at the end, I don't want to see it. If the good guy's girlfriend or boyfriend dies at the end (girls can be good guys) I don't want to see it!

Kanon (2006) - animation was done by the same people that did Suzumiya, and Kyon's voice actor also voices the lead. it's not very lighthearted, but is very funny in parts, and though quite sad/bittersweet along the way the ending is neither

I will suggest that you are NOT looking for Kanon, it has very sad parts, and the theme is generally not happy or funny. But I will second the others (Zero no Tsukaima, Gakuen Alice, and Midori no Hibi) as well as Gintama and Ouran.

Here is something that doesn't get recommended alot. Muteki Kanban Musume Not really much all that much in terms of plot but I thought it was hilarious.

Oh yeah and second that School Rumble recommendation. It does have this guy who likes this girl and gets no where.....BUT this is a parody of that kind of thing so its actually hilarious. One of the best comedies EVAR!!!!

What kind of sad parts? Is it like, One Piece background/Naruto flashback kind of sad parts? Or is it like, you just got attached to person B and now he's paralyzed from the waist down kind of sad parts?

If it's the first, I don't mind it because it makes the happy parts worthwhile. If it's the second, well... I don't wanna see it! lol

Also, have any of you watched Hunter X Hunter? I never really watched it but no one has given me a clear answer for what type of anime it is, but I've heard it's good.

Kanon's sad involves alot of angst and tears. Not the Naruto "OMG no one will be my friend sad".

Hunter X Hunter is a Naruto predecessor shounen anime with a young boy who becomes powerful in search of his father etc.

Hunter X Hunter is a nice shounen anime w/ some resemblance from Yuyu hakusho and later on from Yu Gi oh , it will be great if it will be continued....

I started watching Gintama. I'm liking it so far.

What worries me is that the episodes are currently listed as being as high as 53 yet I can only find downloads for episode 23 and then 33? That's really weird.

Also, I can't really find what most people are suggesting. How's Kanon? Is it easy to find?

You can find it here on animesuki. It's a pretty good show, worth checking out for cute girls and a non-wussy lead if nothing else. (yes, there are some very sad episodes, but at least it ends on a positive note)
