I just couldn't find anything to post other than the usual superlatives "wonderful, fantastic and amazing".

My favorite chapter of the recently released ones has to be 29. I really enjoyed the advice Kotori-sensei gave Dotty. The eerie beginning of the chapter was nice as well.

Chapter 30 was another good chapter for Kotori. It was pleasant to learn a bit more about her.

I'm just noticing that, over the space of the last year, only four different people have had anything to say in here, including you and me. It kind of feels that, probably due to the slowness of the releases (which itself is due to a lack of raws, I think), those who read and comment on Amanchu have kind of drifted away and not returned.

Yes, yes, and yes. I really liked Sensei's advice. It's something Dotty needs to take to heart. The surreal beginning of the chapter was also interesting, and I kind of wanted to see what would happen if it had gone on for a while more.

I've been rewatching Aria with family for the past few months now. That's what reminded me recently to check in on Amanchu to see if it had updated. Now I'm wishing, as was discussed earlier on in the thread, that an Aria-like anime would be made for Amanchu. It's been going on for years, and the monthly releases are supposedly ahead of the chapters that are translated and available to us. And even out of what we've got there's plenty for at least a 1-cour slice-of-life series.

I'm lurking here does that count? I actually saw the thread bumped up a few weeks back and to my pleasant there were three new chapters to read.

I liked the Sensei's flashback scene and of course the cockroach scene, that one is hilarious.

There is definitely enough material available for an anime now. I have no idea how popular Amanchu is compared to Aria, however. If they ever make an anime, then it better be directed by Junichi Sato once again. He's the king of iyashikei.

Oh yes. That's why I specified "Aria-like." Junichi Sato for directing, and Choro Club for the music are a must. Probably as much of the studio and crew as possible. As for the cast... there might have to be some mixing and matching. I could see Chiwa Saito as Ane-chan, but I'm not sure that Akari's voice would work for Pikari. And while I have great respect for Hirohashi Ryou, neither her Alice voice nor any of the others I've heard her do would be right for Dotty. I'm not sure who would be, but we can't do a one-to-one match with the undines.

Sigh. I just wish there were signs that this were actually happening. *pokes the anime industry* Get on your game, folks! It may be optimistic of me, but I cannot imagine that a new healing anime based on a manga by Kozue Amano would not be popular.

Drysuits have tight but stretchable sealing bands around all possible openings (wrists, neck, etc.). As long as water doesn't get into the suit, it's fine.

It is ideal for the suits to be a snug fit though, because having too much air inside the suit would increase the buoyancy and hinder your diving ability.

And they said they wanted to buy custom-made drysuits (known to be costly in general), so they want to make sure to get a perfect fit to get their money's worth anyway.

Yeah, but they can't wait. Their only school drysuits are unusable, so they need new ones ASAP. Since drysuits are never cheap, they might as well go all the way and make sure they're perfect instead of just barely acceptable.

That's got to be the first time ever this happens to me. Spoiler for chapter 33 to 36: Chapter 33 was very nice. It focused on marine life and introduced a new girl named Kokoro which I am pretty sure will show up again (her profile was on the back of the volume). The ending with the little octopuses was magical. Chapter 34 and 35 marked the introduction of supernatural elements in Amanchu! I figured it might happen at some point given Amano's past record. No cats this time however. Ai encountered a handsome ghost who attempted to spirit her away... or did he? She suspected he only wanted to enjoy this precious moment with somebody else. Chapter 36 was a fanservice chapter of sorts (don't worry, there's no actual ecchi). Pikari took off her top by mistake at the spa and had to find a way to get out without exposing her breasts to the guys around. In the end, she had to call up Dotty to help her distract everybody. Dotty showcased growth in this chapter. As Pikari noted, it was the first time she ever spoke so loud in front of a crowd. __________________
