I thought there's a chapter in which the name 'Hayate' was originated. And If I remember it correctly, the scene was in the hospital, which might hint that it was at the time when Hayate was born.

This is neither here nor there, but I wanted to see what other people's thoughts about this were.

I was browsing through another forum and someone threw out the idea that Maria could be Athena's sister. Now from here, I've got three things to say:

1) If it were true, than this would easily explain why Maria appeared in the mirror in the castle.

2) Also, if I remember correctly, Athena referred to Mikado as "Uncle" at one point. So if Maria is in fact Athena's sister (or at least, related to her), then that would also mean she's related to Nagi somehow (probably a cousin like Sakuya).

3) If Maria is another relative, than what exactly is up with this entire family? Athena, Nagi and Maria are all parentless (or at least seem that way). Although Nagi did have a mother (and barring the fact that she has past away), they have yet to speak of her father.

Although, if this has already been posted in this topic, sorry about that. 67 pages is a bit much to skim through to find something like this @_@

I don't remember Athena referring to Mikado as "uncle." In addition, unless you're saying she's like Isumi and Sakuya, Athena has her own family (check chapter 184, there's an article in a newspaper about the daughter of the Tennōsu family still being missing). That, and for all we know, Maria isn't related to Mikado by blood.

I remember reading a theory in a Japanese blog about Athena being the same as Hayate, in the sense that she also had terrible parents. That'd explain why she was so touchy whenever 'parents' were mentioned.

You know, Nagi once said 'Don't relate yourself to me.' in Shimoda arc. I think she said she's certain that he is not related to her.

And also, Hata mentioned that all the people who have Sanzenin heritage has sharp, pointy eyes like Nagi. And that's the reason why Sakuya has kinda pointy eye as well. (If this is the case, Athena could be related to Sanzenins)

Nagi cries because she had her hat snatched away. Then, Isumi appears, chasing a butterfly. Hayate asks if there's something Isumi can do with the ability to tame dolphines and she puts her rabbit ear on Hayate's head. She says that he can use that as Pelican detector. Isumi suggests that if they are looking for a Pelican, they might as well as ask the local people. So Hayate and Nagi and Isumi go to Sister. Sister says that the Pelican is at the harbor, eating some stuff he gained. When Hayate is about to go away, Sister warns Nagi to be careful not to lose Hayate... especially to that golden haired girl. Anyways, they find the Pelican and manage to get the hat back somehow. Nagi says 'Well then, shall we continue our date?' and Hayate says 'Yes, ojou-sama!'

...Or we could just safely say that Athena's family found and adopted Maria, became playmates when they were young, and sent to live with the Sanzenins to let her study, thus parting ways with her best friend.

If she did call Mikado Uncle, it was likely the standard way japanese people address middle aged men, not as an actual Uncle.

Alright, but back in the ch229 spoiler Sister warned Nagi not to lose Hayate to her. I don't remember Sister giving a damn to show any type of concern to Hayate, or does she know anything disturbing about the golden-haired girl that we don't know yet?

Yes, because Athena may be a bit more dangerous than any other person, and who knows what she plans on doing with the stones.

One of my guesses is that she's going to be one of those semi-villains who doesn't know they're just playing into the hands of a bigger, badder villain (e.g. I would place Mikado here since he caused some of the conflicts in the story).

Spoiler for 230. This chapter reveals more mysteries about Yukiji.:

Kaoru: (There was this girl I used to like. That pretty girl who looked good with ponytail was more hero than Gamenrider or Gundam)

To be honest, Kaoru thought he will have a girlfriend naturally when he grew up when he was a student. But he didn't. For 28 years that is. What he has learned is that he has to try his best, so he dragged her to Italy.

Kaoru asks where would they stay for night and Yukiji says that since she's sorry that she's making him spend money for her, she doesn't mind staying in one room together. Kaoru thinks that he managed to get the flag, so he decides to confess later.


Later...

While they are eating dinner, Kaoru asks if he can sit next to Yukiji and he does, but he doesn't know what to say. Then he asks 'Does Hina have a boyfriend?' and Yukiji thinks that he is aiming for her sister. Kaoru says that he doesn't like Hina, but the one who really likes is... at that moment, Yukiji puts beer bottle down and asks him which part of Hina does he like.

Kaoru decides to use the old-fashioned line to confess and says 'I'm a ponytail moe' (For those who don't know, it's from Haruhi series)
Yukiji says 'Why should I care about that!' and hits him, and Kaoru falls unconscious.

Kaoru says 'Why did you stop playing guitar... You saying 'I will change the world with music!' With Hinagiku on your back and guitar on one hand... I... I liked you...

Of course, he was just talking in his sleep.

Yukiji says 'This world... You can't get what you want the most. What you earn is... just a bunch of useless stuffs... So I will pray to the stars... To take me to the golden castle... where this heart will be rewarded.'

(of course, since the Japanese sentence structure is different, direct translation is something different.)

For some fluent Japanese speakers, here's the actual thing:

1. Long time ago, someone in the Korean fansite mentioned that Ayumu's old teacher who left her the guitar must have been Yukiji.

2. Let's just say that the 'wishing to the stars' thing is an urban legend. But what about the 'golden castle' thing? It's like as if Yukiji knows about Athena or Royal Garden.

3. And what is this Yukiji wants badly? What does she mean by 'この想'(This heart)?
