While looking at the giant cocoon, Ishiyama said something interesting: "the Needless Hunt".
Perhaps the fetuses for clonation are stored inside and after a while the resulting living being is born. If such is the case, then who the subject must be?
Sorry, I've been busy this past week with this being my first day off all week (been working 6 days/week all month). Thanks for being patient everyone.
We already knew Riru was the second strongest after Arclight, but damn, they just can't lay a finger on her, no chance at all, not even Aegis Shield, nothing works!!
The cocoon is rip open! Stay tuned, for I feel what's coming now will leave us at the very edge of our seats.
I was surprised that Riru was a clone of the project Eve, she was created before Eve. In the cocoon, because I think the same as you, that Arclight will be there in the cocoon to strengthen and absorbing the remaining fragments to achieve divinity.
Riru should expected something like this... I mean, Blade maybe a clone of god, but he is one hell of sick son of a bitch... Antichrist is better name for blade then Christ, no Devil is the only way...
But I still fonder how will things go... Blade and co are a few levels below the strength of Arclight and his top dogs... And I guess Arclight(if it's him in the cocoon) may now be more complete then he was and that makes their chances of winning that much lower...
After reading chapter 104 (for which I have Avvesione to thanks, Thanks!) there are a couple of things which I noticed. First, Blade's wound is closed up again after he was pierced and pegged to the ground. It looks like a pretty big wound to just "shake off" that fast, even for Needless right? Perhaps, besides the fourth wave, he has learned a few more tricks?
Secondly, it looks like at least Blade&co think Arclight is in the cocoon. After all, wouldn't it have been far better to simply launch an attack on Riru while her attention was diverted when Yamada surprised her with his shield of Aegis? Why go after the cocoon unless they think a bigger threat(Arclight) is within it? Riru has had time now to come up with a way to defend against the shield of Aegis so they won't be able to surprise her like that anymore. This could however be an excellent "fake trail" to surprise the readers with and have someone different in the cocoon.
It was also interesting to see how Riru dealt with Blade's Magnetic world, redirecting his hand so he'd hit himself in the face, ouch!
Lastly, Yamada does sort of uses his brain. When Blade says he can't move because of Riru's fragment, Yamada answers Riru shouldn't know about his power yet, implicitly suggesting when he'll use his power ,Blade should be prepared and use that opportunity. Nothing as fancy as the things he has come up with so far, but at least there's some sort of coordination behind it.
I don't think Arclight is in that "cocoon", largely because I don't even think it's a cocoon to begin with.
It's be too soon to bring Arclight back into the series after his escape in 100. Plus he'd still be probably interested in analyzing the data about the blueprints of God. From there, he'll be able to apply whatever to remake his body, so doing this now will wreck Arclight's plans on a new body probably. Also, we've seen Arclight outside of it and it doesn't appear there's any way inside or any portal on the surface of this biomass.
What's inside, you ask? Well, if I had to guess, I'd figure that the inside if full of biomatter, probably the heads, arms, legs, and a mass of other material that Simeon collected over the course of the Needless Hunt that has grown into this monstrosity. Might even have clones of the Simeon personal in there, too, which would truly be horrifying. Imagine a torrent of body parts along with a thick, bloody liquid falling to the floor. Needless has some gore to it and this is about a perfect time as any to reintroduce some horror to the series.
Also, I had been wondering how Riru knew about Mizuha from 103 for a long time now. Turns out as an Eve M. clone, she very well could've been there to watch the whole thing unfold where Mizuha survived and started the Resistance. Really makes it interesting where she, Triple Six, Mizuha, Saten (who I believe was a scientist on the Adam/Eve Projects), and Arclight were in regards to the Gido, Blade, and Eve during that flashback. I guess if Riru was there, she'd also know a bit about Mizuha and the rest considering she was alive at the time, maybe even before Arclight and Blade. Also curious about how she got her Psychokinesis and ruled over Blackspot 8, but that's likely going to be unanswered.
Inside the giant flesh bulb there's, most likely, all the body parts of all the needlesses that were killed by Simeon, but not its dead members. Those received a different treatment (bloody sample + fetus).
But fact is, Disk sensed a life force inside, and I like Avvesione, am pretty sure isn't Arclight, but something else, some kind of biological being.
Damn, next month can't come soon enough, can it? Because it's a cliffhanger so big, I won't read any spoilers when they come out.

Actually...
Spoiler:
I was thinking along the lines that they members of Simeon would have some aspect of their bodies, either something as simple as DNA or something more, be a part of the large biomass. If whatever they're trying to make needs as many Needless body parts as possible, then why not include the ones they already have, just used cloned material to make it work?
After looking over the chapter again, I kinda have an idea how to defeat Riru. And when you see my idea, you'll see how simple (and obvious) an idea it is.
Spoiler:
Remember the combined attacks of Setsuna, Kuchinashi, and Mio during the Third Shelter? Well after thinking about it for a bit and seeing how quickly Blade was able to move past Riru with a Dean Drive Fox Hound, it makes sense that this would be one way to defeat Riru, an ironic twist since those are the powers of the girls she commands.
Think about for a sec, if you use DDFH or any Speed Fragment, you can get yourself close to Riru for which to use Kuchinashi's Fragrance Fragment. If Riru is unable to repel the fragrence through her psychokinesis, she'll be paralyzed and unable to use her fragment at all. From there, a well-timed punch from Mio's Power Fragment and you'll be able to deliver damage to Riru. From there, just repeat the speed, fragrance, and power cycle until you win.
Simple and kinda obvious right? Not sure if they'll do it this way, but Blade finally knows the three fragments, so it is possible.

Spoiler for :
That will work if Riru doesn't have any sort of barrier on her and I think it can work only 1 time as a surprise attack, so if you don't finish her of on the first try you''re screwed...

Spoiler for 104:
It seems like a good idea but Riru has shown she doesn't always have to direct her power with her hands to use it. So even if her body is paralyzed she could probably stilll use her power. She may even be able to control her own body like a puppet that way. And since you'll have to breathe in the odour first before it can do it's job it'll give her time to control the odour and send it right back at Blade. She can control things at the molecular level so I don't think this would be a problem either.
Using dean drive fox hound and mio's power should be enough to deliver a killing blow but only if they'd surprise her and don't give her time to put up any sort of defense. That moment has come and gone with Cruz's first time of using his power. A terrible waste of a good opportunity imo.
However what if Blade picks up Yamada and use him as a shield again(just like when they plowed their way through the clonesoldiers) and then Blade can attack her from behind the shield with magnetic world or something? I'm not sure Yamada's shield of aegis can actually do something like that but right now I don't really see another way to deal with Riru. And even this way would be hard since she could try and pick up Eve and Disk and use them as a human shield or bullets again.
Oh and about the whole "what's in the cocoon"-matter, Riru said they were on "holy ground" when they first entered the room. That seems like it has to do something with the 2nd christ and since the cocoon is the most prominent feature of that place I'm thinking the holy part was because of the cocoon or whatever is in it.
Hence why not Arclight nor Riru can't possibly be defeated, not till the very end of the second part of the story. They are the final bosses, or at least two of them. Blade has absolutely no chance, and even less Eve.

Spoiler:
Both have shit chances, but Eve is in a entire new level of fucked then Blade. Blade still has his byakugo, and he can disable Arclights fragment, and Blade has proven to be able to beat Arclight in hand 2 hand. Eve has absolutely no chance, outside of Riru being a idiot.
For those who are interested, raw for chapter 104 in HQ has been uploaded on Share and I saved it on my desktop. If someone is interested, you already know what to do
I still think Cruz made the best decision, they were going no where fast, he knew he had wait for the right moment for Blade to counter attack but he couldn't let Eve get killed. Also thinking back Imai gave us a pretty good hint in the Needless 0 chapters. During the Riru one, Riru mentions multiple times that she was created to serve god.
