This episode was a mixed bag with a touch of horrible...
The beginning to middle part was fine, with the city destroyed and everyone going crazy over killing ayakashi-users, but then the "action" starts. Strong stuff die easily, Pam gets easily killed, everything happens easily... Or maybe I'm bitter Pam died.
Oh, and the protagonists prove their idocy.

"Vi" --> "Peace"

Throwing a bus and a signpole at Debotchi=one of the stupidest things I've ever seen...

So... dumb... The great Debotchi stands still while Eimu and Yuu have a little argument and while they glow. The great Ryuu comes out and kills it in one blast... Makes me laugh at it...

And the end was just something out of this world... in a simple way. It was too simple... No excitement... Just disappointment.
Mr. Giggles pop up, announces that he is going to cause the ayakashi snow to fall again, has Orochi eat one of Yuu's arm, and as he was about to finish them off, Pam comes up and fights to buy time. Then guess what... She gets killed off in a second, just like that.
One of the better characters of this series, dead, just like that...

Heh, I felt the same way you did. I think I'm gonna give up on it now though. This show fails on so many levels. In fact, I'd say this show is a perfect example of how to NOT make a good or even a mediocre anime.

You know what, after 9 episode I've finally realised something. Yuu is pathetic as a hero. He must have spent more time screaming in pain, being rescued or unconcious than actually standing. The worst thing is that he charges in like a blind idiot and expect to be fine...normally it works for other series like naruto or bleach, but for him - he comepletely fails just like that. He tries to be a tough guy by wanting to protect but ends up being the one who is protected...talk about being pathetic -___-

Now hes lost his arm...great - I'm actually going to root for the bad guys the way this is going as it won't feel just for someone so idiotic to save the day (or I would feel that it is an insult to be saved by him).

Pam...she was probably the only character I cared for and wtf happens - she dies without even attacking

My patience is at its limit with these guys...

Not actually too bad... But OP doesn't decide anything... But Yuu doesn't look so dumb.
I just don't want him to throw a pole at a monster ever again, that idiot.


The character albums weren't that bad either.
Songs-Eimu's and Izumi's were actually not half-bad, Hime's was lacking.
Drama-Izumi's was the only one interesting since it took place before she dies...
Eimu's involved eating food and Hime's involved worring that Eimu is dating Yuu.


Anyways... (At least one thing in this episode is good~) Not a bad episode compared to episode 9. At least Yuu isn't as horribly dumb.

Well, it's finally explained what those slimy things were in the OP along with the Diebotchi. They were ayakashi that started appearing this episode.
The new ayakashi snow plants ayakashi in people, Orochi-man causes them fear, and the ayakashi hatches, kills the person, and emerges as a slimy monster.

It gets violent again, with lots of blood splattering (though there are scenes where people splatter blood, but in the next scene, their bodies are clean...

YAY!! Pam's still alive! Geez, she has the vitality of a cockroach!

In the meantime, the last two male ayakashi-users that work for Mr. giggles appears.
The classmate saves Orie and the other guy (I think he's called Akio or something so I'll go with that) greets Pam, who never can die.

Akio explains his past.
He was once a policeman, but quit to work Mr. giggles (reluctantly).
His ayakashi can create some kind of mudpit portal...
Apparently, Akino was already a fangirl of Mr. giggles back then.

For some wonderful reason, by having one of her tears drop on Ryuu when she entered Yuu's mind, he managed to awaken and recover his lost arm...
Oh well...

Seems Yuu lost his ayakashi powers. Has to be saved by that classmate (Kajiwara), who has an ayakashi that can create rock spikes from the ground.
By the way, even though Kajiwara works for Mr. giggles, he suffered from the common syndrome that people sometimes catch when they spy on others in disguise called "I've-been-with-you-so-long-I-like-you-now".

Oh, and Hime and her family is alive, for some reason...

Now, salamander-user from several episodes back appear. Hearing that Yuu can't use his powers anymore, he takes Hime hostage and decides to slowly kill them all.

Orie's identity revealed!! She's actually that humanoid cat ayakashi that belonged to that friend of Izumi's that appeared in a flashback a while ago... (-_-)
So her ability is "sharp claws" that cut stuff.
No wonder she looks familiar, I thought...
She attacks salamander-guy and he runs away telling her he didn't kill her master (Obviously Mr. giggles).


By the way, during all of this (starting when Yuu regains his arm), Eimu has been fighting against Akino. Except she has to get past an army of those slime monsters with her Oni-ayakashi.
Still fighting.


Episode ends with that Akio guy taking Yuu to his car and giving Pam back. He asks Yuu to leave the city with the survivors, but he refuses, so Akio says that he will tell Yuu where Mr. giggles is if Yuu can beat him...

Less interesting than the previous episode, but stays at Ayakashi-level (below average).

I just hope Pam stays alive to the end, considering her last appearance in this episode is being surrounded by those slime monsters...

Classmate's ayakashi is revealed!-which is some kind of mechanical bull or something.

The other guy's ayakashi is called "Ketabake"... Apparently, even he can't see it.
The guy also has some complex where he thinks that anyone who gets near him suffers misfortune.
The ayakashi seems to react to enemy intents.
So when Pam came from behind, it launched it's attack at her, but when her ayakashi disappeared and Yuu charged at the guy, it changed direction again. But it was too late and Yuu wins against the guy.
Yuu is just so smart.


Meanwhile, on the other side, Hime and her family, Orie, and the classmate are saving people (what, there are still some remaining?).
Orie's "SHAAAA!" things was...

So Ryuu won't come out because Yuu is afraid of Orochi... (-_-)


Anyways, back to Eimu and Akino. Akino tires out Eimu with those slime things and has her oni ayakashi attack Eimu's with a special sword.
But Yuu saves the day by coming out of a special portal Pam made and reawakening his ayakashi powers. How amazing... <--sarcasm

*insert song*...

Ends with Eimu still fighting Akino (seriously...) and Yuu leaving her to fight Orochi.
Then Yuu gets teleported to where Orochi is... which seems to be the school... It seems to have had a meal...

If it wasn't for the awesome soundtrack and Pam, this series might as well burn in hell

Yuu has got to be one of the dumbest "hero" I've seen...but dam why does he have to be invincible! I mean he is just like kazuki

Anyway, besides having his ass saved countless times by girls, he gets his powers back in the strangest way possible...err what was that?

Pam is still unkillable but that's alright...I don't want her to die!

Now if orochi and yuu can double KO each other

I've never played the game so I don't know if there was potential in the first place, but yeah... It could have been much better.

-Hah! Akino lost in a single attack! Eimu had Satori dive right down from the sky and pierced right through the red oni.
Akino finally gives up and gives that sword of hers to Eimu.

-Orochi has some mini-Orochis go attack the remaining characters elsewhere, like the classmate or Akino (still alive)


And Orochi transforms into it's kanzentai and evolves into a sandworm monster thing that eats all. By the way, its mouth can act like a cannon.


And the final battle ends. After lots of beams, slimy monsters, blood monsters, and snakes, it ends with a single blast. Not very horrible, but not a bit amazing...
But Mr. giggles is still there. Big, giant Orochi is gone, but a merged Mr. giggles is alive! By the way, he had the funniest shout ever... It's like his voice went *zoom*.
And so, Akino and Eimu held back Mr. giggles and Yuu chopped Mr. giggles in half.


END:

Snow falls after Orochi's destruction.
Reconstruction of the city.
Everyone survives. Pam, Hime, Classmate, that man, Akino, salamander man, Yuu, Eimu, etc.
At the most, Eimu lost her eyesight and has to use a cane now. One of her eyes went blind during Akino's fight and one went blind during Orochi's...
Series ends with Yuu meeting Eimu at that sakura tree and hugging her.

Oh yeah, and Orie turned back into a purple cat.
And we never find out Mr. giggles' real name.

Spoiler for final thoughts:

To be honest, the only character I really enjoyed was Pam.
The supporting cast wasn't bad either.
The protagonist was annoyingly idiotic though... Who throws a signpost at a giant monster?...

I give it a 5.
More than Prism Ark for actually having a story. I also gave points because the end actually made me somewhat melancholy that it's over now.
Also added points for a good OP and ED.
It lost points for skipping parts without warning, making what happened in-between a mystery.
It lost points for not very exciting fights in general too.


Can't believe it, but I'm going to miss it a bit...

The ED single was pretty good.
The full ED was great.
The other song included wasn't as good, but it worked.

One thing i truly like about this show is the OP.But at least the ending wasn't as crappy as Prism Ark.It's not a hanging ending and i am glad it turned out so.I guess i will finish this show after all

Honestly speaking, this series suxed so bad.

The whole plot completely didn't make any dam sense.

The character suxed.

The fights made effort besides being anti climatic.

And the end fight was just laughable after the leadup(?).

Honestly, this one is up there with prism ark for suxing...but at least prism ark had service

This series failed in trying to create a heavy mood...to the point I am about to delete everything to make space for good series ^^

The final moment was touching though, with eimu being blind and all...

Overall: 2/10 (was going to be 1 but and extra point for having a bitter sweet end. And the one point was only for Pam ).

But one thing good about the series...I has a dam godly soundtrack...

I LOVE the full end song ^^

Finished listening to Pam's drama from the character CD...
I think it's supposed to take place before the weird skip between episode 4 and 5...
Oh, and I didn't even know Pam's full name until now... or did I forget...?

Spoiler for Pam's character song/drama (various facts):

Pam's mom was born in Japan, moved to France, and died.
Similarly, Yuu's mom died too while his dad is still alive.
Pam was also first in Japan before going to France and coming back again.
Pam came to meet Yuu because she became interested in him after seeing his picture

And after Eimu realizes Pam wasn't moving under Mr. giggles' orders, she decides that Pam isn't an enemy (though she can't let her guard down...)

And Pam agrees not to kill Eimu after some convincing from Yuu, like "she's my friend too" and "If you kill her, we will have to stop being friends and divorce."
Divorce? Pam says they're husband and wife...

Or close... They just can't get along well...
Well, all fine in the end... -_-

As for how Pam met up with Yuu and Eimu to talk about all of this, she just pops up as usual.


Her character song... wasn't one of the type of songs that I could listen to more than once repeatedly...

Didn't want to listen to Akino's, but...
I didn't regret listening to it...

Spoiler for Akino's character song/drama (various facts):

-After losing their parents, the Yoake sisters were taken in by their uncle and aunt. But they were just after money and their attitudes towards the sisters changed after they got that.
Needless to day... it was abusive... and it sure hurt to listen...

After they ran away, they met... him...
And so, the sisters ended up living with him.

But worried about being betrayed one day, they returned to their uncle/aunt's home.
Those two were worried the sisters told the authorities and got paranoid and all, and continued shouting and abusing the sisters. They decided to kill the sisters. The sisters (actually Akino, since Eimu seemed to already know) realized their parents were killed by their aunt and uncle.
Needless to say, the two tried to kill the sisters, but the one who was killed was them of course, since Akino's ayakashi awoken at that time.
After that, Akino gave the oni a name, and ended up going with that man.


And all was good until Orochi ate the guy and turned him into Mr. giggles.
*the above sentence is not part of the drama and just my remark*

Her character song was better than Pam's...
