argh...
Well, I'm seriously beginning to lose my faith in anime/manga. All of it is totally dull and stereotypical. Some had promise, but were canceled. Hellsing, for example, was cool early on, but got cut off damn quick.
Please...someone... rejuvenate my belief in anime/manga! The Average ninja anime I do not like, nor those ones with the guy who pretends to have no emotions or something, I hate that >.<. animes i've liked: Witch Hunter robin Hellsing Blue submarine No. 06, although it could've been better. Violinist of Hamelin. Mangas I've liked: River's Edge. BLAME! NOISE! Blue Heaven Oh, and one more thing. LOVE HINA MUST DIE. |

Watch Shingetsutan Tsukihime. Watch it! And if you did and you didn't like it you should go to hell!
You anime hate list is understandable. How can you like Violinist of Hamelin? Edit: Shouldn't this go under Suggestions? |

Go watch Blame, Noiseman Sound Insect and Cat Soup.
If you find those dull and stereotypical, then I don't know. You might try Ebichu aswell. Seeing how a hamster gets squashed in various ways isn't really stereotypical either ^_^ CU, lamer_de

I watched Ebichu before and it was....ok. I just got a little tired of the poor guy getting beaten to a bloody pulp.
As for Chrno Crusade, FMA, and GG... I'm not so sure yet. I tried FMP! once, but I couldn't seem to hang on to the idea of gov't officials being so stupid as to go to school armed with an SMG. I mean...come on..undercover ops training? Chrno Crusade: Wait a minute...isn't this a typo? Isn't it Chrono(time) Crusade? In some relation to Chrono Trigger(cross?). I haven't played either of the game(anti square/enix, for no apparent reason.) GG: I heard it was horrible, but, I'll give it a try afterward. Right now, I'm going to work more on my manga . Lamer_de: where the heck can i get this stuff? I've never seen it anywhere. I heard the BLAME! anime version wasn't so good but, eh, I absolutely loved the manga so.. . Edit: is it just me, or is Alucard in the theme song/beginning? Last edited by Deralti; 2004-01-06 at 02:58. |

thankfully a funky little anime store down the street has lots of hard-to-find sort of things, so i might get it there .
So far a friend asked what i was watching. When i described it... all i said was... "ho....ly.....sh...it.." Now, my friend is looking at me strangely . |

Well, if you don't like mainstream anime I would not recommend Chrno crusade, which someone mentioned (which btw, does not have anything to do with the Chrono games from square at all).
Some shows I would recommend however, are Rumic Theater, Mermaid's forest, Crest & Banner of the stars I & II, The legend of the galactic heroes, Condor Hero, Now and then - here and there, The twelve kingdoms (Juuni kokki), Rose of Versailles, Ayatsuri Sakon, Yokohama shopping log (+YSL - Quiet country café). |

Blame! was subbed by wizzu. Visit their channel #wizzu on mircx or use their BT (Can't link it here, as Wizzu does licensed stuff aswell). I haven't read the manga, so it was a really, really weird and rather senseless experience for me. Oh, and while you're in their channel, you might want to get Texhnolyze aswell (or wait till the R1 DVDs are released,it's licensed by Pioneer/Geneon). That's also a rather experimental anime.
Noiseman Sound insect was subbed by Anime-Rakuen, but I don't know their channel/BT site any more. Was their only project as far as I know. Cat Soup was never subbed, mainly because there's no dialogue in it I haven't seen it yet, but it's supposed the same psychedelic style as those animes I mentioned before. It's aviable through p2p apps like edonkey, I don't know if there's a BT for it. CU, lamer_de

and, I'm curious. Is Shingetsutan a fan-made anime or something? since it says not for sale, rent, or auction during a little pause. And..one more thing, would there be somewhere to acquire(if a purchaseable CD where) the OST? |

The prologue made more sence for me since I watched it half in the series while I was wait for the next eps. And no its not fan made. The show says not for sale, rent, or auction during a little pause because the fansub group does it for free during there free time or something. And If you make a profit off of it just for download and wait its not fair for those people who actually worked on it. You can donate to the fansub group to help then.... thats about all the money the groups receive, to my knowledge. If anyone can correct me on these matter please do so. And for the OST be careful about asking for that since it can be copyrighted in the states and people might get on your case about it. But I'll PM you about where you can get it okay? Since I'm not sure if I can post the link, better safe than sorry..........

Of course there are other retailers for Japanese stuff, and you can always order from http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/search.html...n&restrict=ALL But I was told that yesasia is a rather cheap and reliable source, and HK bootleg free. Never ordered there myself, though. While donations for fansub groups are surely nice, imho your money would be better invested in the actual product, although it might not be of great daily use if you don't speak Japanese. That way the company has somethingfrom your money aswell. [You can always provide the group of your choice with raws from your DVD later ] There's a huge Tsukihime thread in this forum, where it is explained how the "product history" of Tsukihime is.
